I just wanted to say that I by chance watched the BBC Parliament channel after the budget and was very impressed with your comments. I am not a person that believes in what any politcian says these days as their credibility has been shot to pieces by the greed, power, ego and all the wrong traits of human nature but I really felt that you are one of the few that speaks his mind and wears his heart on his sleeve. What a refreshing change to see it. I just hope you do not remain in the very small minority. Taking away the six layers of government and control over the peoples lives is crucial. Not treating the electorate as fools. 'You can fall some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time', even if you control the information being fed out to us poor mushrooms. . .
Please keep up the good work and if there is anyway I can help, I am happy to do so. My main concern is how we are controlled and fed information based on what they want us to hear, whoever they are. That is the problem. With large corporates getting more powerful, regulations pushing out free enterprise, cartels on pricing globally being fixed, politicans being bought. It all leaves us in a World where with the introduction of I.D. cards and greater technology to watch us, we are becoming less as individuals, more as faceless apatheic creatures. I hope some of what I have said strikes a cord. With regards - Robert Doughty

Keep up the good work John.
I only hope it will continue in the same form should/when the Conservatives get into power.

I really look forward to reading, even when I am abroad on holiday, about the economy and other things on your blog. It is really helpful, clear and (usually) right too.
Hey - if only Labour had someone who could do the same thing! I'll bet they are really jealous.

Yes, your blog is full of common sense. But I would be much happier if you were also hammering home these messages as a front bench spokesman. I now read that 85% of laws originate from the EU. It is beyond belief that a government without a specific mandate could sit on its hands and let this happen. One can only conclude that this suits the political elite and the opinions of the British people matter not a whit.
Therefore, since Cameron is not prepared to bring strong and informed pro - UK voices on the front bench (but IS prepared to promote Clarke) I begin to fear Cameron may also be part of the pro European elite.

Your blog is so good because, not only do you state your opinions in a clear and unambiguous way, you often reply directly to contributors’ comments. You set a great example for political blogging. Long may it continue.
