Visit to Willink School


On Friday 28 th March I visited the Willink School to talk to the 6th FormĀ  about Parliament and some topical issues. They had heard a Lib Dem representative the previous week.

I briefly sketched the evolution of Parliament, why it came about and what itĀ seeks to do. I mentioned the recent debate on the UK’s role in the EU and Parliament’s powers vis a vis Europe.

I answered questions on a wide range of subjects, including migration, student tuition fees, social policy and jobs.

    John Redwood won a free place at Kent College, Canterbury, and graduated from Magdalen College Oxford. He is a Distinguished fellow of All Souls, Oxford. A businessman by background, he has set up an investment management business, was both executive and non executive chairman of a quoted industrial PLC, and chaired a manufacturing company with factories in Birmingham, Chicago, India and China. He is the MP for Wokingham, first elected in 1987.
