Government fund to help Town Centres

In the New Year the details of how Councils can apply for additional money to help modernise or improve town centres will be published.I have told Wokingham Borough of the opportunity to bid for funds, and will also contact West Berkshire to remind them.

In my opinion, most of the problems our town centres are having are caused by government at one level or another.
Business rates, unfair tax codes, over the top planning laws and employment regulations all contribute to the overall demise of our high street.

To me, this so called action by the government is too little too late and a bit like a glazing company throwing a brick through your window with a note saying we repair broken windows.
