You will be interested to know that the Government has now launched a consultation concerning a ban on live animal exports:

The consultation gives you an opportunity to register your views and will be open until 28 January 2021.

Mr Burnham will not rule out more tax rises. Why can’t he see that the two big Starmer/Reeves tax raising budgets threw people out of work and led to the PM and Chancellor losing their jobs as unemployment rose.

Mr Burnham hopes Regional Mayors will be able to build more houses in their areas by overriding local wishes and Councils. In London the Mayor already has these powers yet housebuilding there has collapsed.

Mr Burnham’s idea of devolution is to take powers away from local Councils and communities to give them to Regional Mayors! The Regional Mayors in turn have to follow government policy and will not be allowed to cut taxes.

Why the delay from Mr Burnham in agreeing the Jackdaw gas field? Replacing imported LNG with UK gas down a pipe cuts world CO 2. It brings extra tax revenue and well paid jobs to the UK. Not doing this is self harm on a big scale.

It now costs the UK government 5.8% to borrow money for 30 years, compared to less than 4% in 2022 when Labour attacked the rate rises. Labour’s high spend policies have driven our borrowing costs much higher. We will now face higher taxes to pay all the extra interest charged.

Mr Burnham had a dear day with the buses. £11.5 m to buy his place on the press release as the West Midlands Mayor sets up a franchising system. No news of any extra or better services planned. The cost is £52 m hitting taxpayers just to set up the scheme.

Threatening all the disabled with loss of their current benefits is a cruel mistake. Change should provide better control of access to benefits and better assessment of need for new claimants, plus helping people on benefits into work who could manage a job.
