An extraordinary revelation in The Times. Whistleblowers have provided documents that prove NESO and DESNZ *know* that the surge in wind, solar and batteries is putting us at greater risk of blackouts and higher bills. The whistleblower says they are ‘flying blind.’ I first ...

Why has growth been so poor in Wales with devolved government and Labour in charge up to the last election? It has had more taxpayer cash per head than England.

The National Economic Council was a meeting of senior Ministers in 2008-10. Now it is a meeting between Ministers and regional Mayors. This is divisive, leaving out all parts of the UK without regional Mayors. Does it take decisions? Do the Mayors get a vote on issues discussed?

What is Ed Miliband’s view of claims about poor Chinese labour practices? Is he too keen on imports of Chinese solar panels? Weakness over human rights failures in our supply chains has led to US tariffs on our exports.

When will Ed Miliband try to get the UK out of new US tariffs? He needs to get on better with President Trump so he can help the UK restore good trade terms.

The PM’s policies on buses, rough sleeping and taxes on pubs are national policies. How does this work when his big idea is to get regional Mayors to make more decisions?

The PM blunders on with no idea of how to pay for things. His proposed small cuts in business rates do not remove much of the Reeves high increases, and his bus fares cuts just get us back to Conservative levels after Starmer hikes.

The 30 year government borrowing cost in Germany is 3.66%, US 5.17%, and UK 5.79%. UK taxpayers are having to pay a big penalty for this government’s economic mismanagement.

Bad news for Burnham: ‘aligning’ with EU won’t help with illegal migrants. “Dublin’s dead” – In UK’s last 5 yrs as a Member, it could only deport 5% of all requests it made. And Macron won’t take his illegal migrants in the UK back anyway. ... Pls re-post! ...

2010-24 saw 14,000 new prison places, but also closures of old facilities.Labour inherited a large building programme. They need to deport more foreign criminals to free prison places. Do not offer early release to violent and sexual offenders.

Why does the government find it so difficult to control spending? Stop the big losses on bond sales at Bank of England. Stop the carbon capture and storage vanity projects. Freeze recruitment to civil service. Stop Councils making property and renewable power “investments”.

The nationalised water industry in the 1970s and 1980 s regularly dumped sewage in the rivers and sea. When they started to monitor and report this the UK became known as the “dirty man of Europe”.

One of the last acts of the nationalised water industry in 1988 was the Camelford drinking water poisoning. They told customers the water was safe for days after the dangerous error. The privatised industry inherited a big backlog of repair and improvement works.

Disastrous idea by Mr Burnham to want to recreate the 1970s when a Labour government overspent, over borrowed, overtaxed. It had to beg a humiliating loan from the IMF as it was engulfed by high inflation. Too many nationalised services went on strike and cost us a fortune.
