System Upgrades

Dear blog user,

The service provider I use for this website used Google Feed Burner to send you individual emails of the daily blog. Google have closed this down.

I am afraid the new system we are installing to replace the old one requires you to re-register. If you would like to, please put your email address into the ā€˜ā€™free email alertsā€™ā€™ box any time Ā from tomorrow ( Thursday 20th October ) onwards to continue to receive the email version.

Yours sincerely

John Redwood

Talent and enterprise should not be restrained ; history shows that the development of any economy depends on cultivating skills and ideas as well as maintaining its core . At he same time all economic growth is subject to the state of markets and when constraints exist internationally , no matter how good the new developments and the core are , they will be restricted . Such a situation exists at the moment and it has to be focused in any plan .
The present Government have this dilemma and its approach has to be timed accordingly . Putting the plan to the public in a convincing plausible manner is a skill of leadership and Truss sadly falls seriously short in this . She has to go .

Your blog works well SJR with quality content. I was unaware of the previous email facility.

Some posters seek replies from othersā€™ comments. However, the original posters may remain unaware of their question without scrolling through every entry ā€˜just in caseā€™ to check if their answer is sought.

An email alert of someoneā€™s posted question would be helpful if that could be accommodated.

Use Ctrl-F “Bloke” to jump to your own posts on any page rather than scrolling the whole lot.

It is worth saying that many of the more considered posts come later so always worth scrolling through previous days’ entries.

I thank you for your guidance NF. However I do use Find from the drop-down menu (and sometimes Ctrl-F) to go direct to my own former entries then scroll down from there to read further. This also involves opening every recent topic individually in case a question is unanswered in any one.
An email alert would save time yet may be seeking too much. The daily blogs are excellent in quality and reading many others’ contributions adds further enlightenment.

See what I mean? The concept of the customer being king went out the window years ago ! We are livestock being farmed by these global corporations.

    Dear Sir John,
Thank you for this update on why emails are not getting through generally. I thought it was just me!
    Blessed normality will soon return.
    Best regards…..Martin Ward

BTW Your 17th October analysis of the BoE’s responsibilty for much of the present chaos was right on the money. Well done!

Iā€™m supposed to have received a message confirming my change of email address but it hasnā€™t arrived

Because when I put my original email in I was informed that it was already registered but a comment that I left didnā€™t even get the usual .. your comment is awaiting moderation

That will be because your details have not been remembered by the site. A recurring issue mostly on Android web apps but occasionally in Edge and Chrome on a desktop

Thank you for the prompt Sir John but like even @hef and the child in Nortingaham your site is one I visit regularly without a reminder.

I do wish your provider would sort out the cookies on Android though so my details are remembered

Another way to learn of new posts on this site is by subscribing to the RSS feed at https://johnredwoodsdiary.com/feed/

No email address need be given to the site and your feed-subscribing software will ‘poll’ that URL at intervals to learn of new articles.

    Just a small point.
Seems my e mail address is never remembered when commenting, even though I have clicked the box “Save my name” many many times.
Just a minor irritation on what is an excellent blog site, thank you.

Entry to your new site is a nightmare. They are already telling me my password is incorrect in the registration process. Why does life need to be so complex just for the convenience of a computer.

    Will do.
a change that would help is putting the add comments box at the top of the page. Being at the bottom means much scrolling down.

“The new system to replace the old ”
The globalist agenda is a bit like the mini budget. Some good ideas but crassly implemented.
A centrist party of R&L would be good with new younger people who question everything,
who dare to stand up and say I’m a young global leader but x and y is just plain WRONG.
Some Cons, some Labs, some Nats, some Greens and some Conspiraloons All have some good ideas.
I heard five minutes of The Olympian, Pinchee’s original Pinchee and he sounded ok.
( I’m not a globalist but willing to listen to any idea)
BTW the triple lock is a misleading term. It’s about Ā£10 per week more for me than the double? lock.
