The government stokes inflation

The government is keen to put prices up. It has hiked rail fares by double inflation, and Council tax. They have allowed large double figure percentage rises in water bills. They have pushed up energy prices three times since taking office, now an increase of over 15%.

They have increased the costs of employing people considerably with National Insurance rises in April. Businesses that can will pass  those cost rises onto customers.

If the Bank of England does not accommodate these rises with a looser money policy then the public sector rises will leave  too little spending power for other items and demand will drop. Businesses will find they cannot pass on all the cost rises and will have to employ fewer people  and reduce other costs.

    Good morning.

I see project, ‘Doom-Loop’ is going to plan. Making everything expensive so you cannot afford that home you live in. Maybe you should ‘downsize’ or, better still, take a (future) government offer to take your home off you before it gets repossessed.

You might not own it, but you’ll be happier 😉

The government will keep going for as long as it can get away with it.

Opposition will be ignored. Only a huge financial crisis or widespread social unrest/ rioting will derail things.

All part of the master plan. Thieves declares growth is the priority then every action is to cripple the economy. The private sector is being milked dry to accommodate the iver mighty useless public sector.
It will soon come to pass that we cannot afford council tax and a charge will be made against the property, slowly the government becoming the landlord. They can then allocate housing according to their preferences. Not the indigenous population i add.
The great reset is well under way.

They have ÂŁ900odd million to pay back to Russia, which they have stolen to give to Ukraine. This is contrary to all law and will sink our financial sector which is based on property rights.
They are no longer Master of the Plan.

The corporate tax rate of 25% is now showing up in results posted by companies. Along with the higher energy costs and employers NI, this making a big dent in the profits and cash flows needed to stay competitive.

The policies intended to deliver The Great Reset have definitely been accelerated; the Destruction Phase is in full flood now. Those orchestrating it must have been concerned that too many people were waking up to their objectives and resistance was building.

I am convinced that all the destructive policies which have (and are) being inflicted on the British people are deliberate. Our Puppeticians are simply following Orders.

Queen Rachel has stuck herself on her own chess board. She can’t move in any direction without putting King Starmer in check. The white knights with their castles are closing in on both of them, with only a few pawns in the way.

    The government stokes inflation.

    That is putting it mildly.

By deliberately making living so expensive they are forcing us towards subsistence level survival. I thought I had a decent pension arrangement until taxes ate so much away.
Those that can afford foreign holidays this year will be in the minority, but that is just one of the reasons they stoke inflation, so that we comply with their requirement to stop using airplanes.

Inflation is now self perpetuating, with food and other basic items increasing week by week.

So while Starmer still talks about getting higher production he prepares for war – strange how its often the case that political leaders conceive going to war as beneficial to their government when they have done so much damage in their own country.

No doubt Starmer will take heart and follow through with a similar scheme, following the announcement from Polish PM Donald Tusk announces plans for military training of ‘every adult male’ by end of year.

To gain some insight into the massive absence of business understanding now operating at the heart of Government we need look no further than the Labour cabinet. Not one member of Starmer’s team has had any commercial/business experience…not one.
We are not surprised therefore, when they come up with policies that are destructive to commerce and to economic growth.
They simply do not know any batter.

They are spending other peoples money as if its going out of fashion.

Managing a country and its money, is not about how you tax but how you spend. Control expenditure and your control the economy – it is that simple. Tax is the removal of money from the economy to hold it back, not dissimilar to raising bank interests rates. If you as Government increase costs you cause inflation, take money from the economy and ensure contraction and less intake of tax.

As we have political activists throughout Parliament I am not so sure that this wasn’t the plan all along. They need to create hardship and poverty to keep up their drive to force the UK back under control of the unelected unaccountable EU. Presumably that is also why it is Parliament has kept ‘all’ mainstream EU laws on the statute, rather than doing what they were employed to do – be the UK’s Legislators. The UK is in the ECHR for no other reasons than Parliament is lazy and cannot be bothered to be the UK’s Legislators, they also have to remain tied to it to get back into the EU – there is no other reason for it. The ECHR has nothing to do with ‘human rights’ – the first thing it does is disband the human right of others in its pronouncements – a court with no democratic oversite making things up as it goes along. yet we have a Parliament that ‘love’ external rule and orders. By deliberately and maliciously causing costs to rise, inflation, things no sane manager would entertain keeps confirming the ideologic warfare at play. Some 600 – odd MP’s all paid to do another job have demonstrated by deed and actions this situation of hard-left socialist dictatorship is what they signed up for.

The bulk of the shower in Parliament with their managed BLOB, have never forgot the people of the UK wanted to be a sovereign democracy and are still fighting that war

This is all part of Borealis Johnson’s “Net Zero – Build Back Greener” program set into law by 2050 by PM May without a proper debate, without a vote and without a costing (which all bills I understand should have) as it is supported by the Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem and Green MPs that dominate Parliament.

In order to “build back greener” you first need to destroy and this is what we are now seeing.

Unfortunately the voters have not yet realised that this will lead to impoverishment and national insecurity.

MPs are not worried by the lack of electricity or grid (national & local) capacity or chargrs for evs as it is not intended for all 41m ice vehicles on UK roads to be transitioned to evs. Possibly 10% maximum as everyone will have to use “active travel” (Net Zero terminology) within the already planned 15 minute cities.

No longer electricity “at the flick of a switch from abundant, cheap British renewables
.” as promised by Borealis Johnson in his “Net Zero Strategy – Build Back Greener” document but rather “customer engagement” (aka rolling blackouts) in Ed Miliband’s ÂŁ240bn NESO Clean Power 2030 plan.

@Original Richard – as Sir John reminded us recently, all those that have got into Parliament since NetZero was ‘invented’ could have changed things. Conclusion therefore is that it is Parliament that has decided to wreck the Country and impoverished its people.
We are reminded daily that all our competitor nations will have nothing to do with this religion, they are getting on growing their wealth and becoming more secure – everything that is the opposite to the UK. Others are creating a future, the UK Governent, the UK Parliment, UK MPs have taken on to destroy not build, ideological terrorism

You are right that this Labour Government both stokes inflation and increases the cost of living. Is it deliberate policy as some of your readers say? Is it that as socialists both the PM and Chancellor have no idea how stupid they are? It seems very few of today’s MPs of any party, have a business background, and seem painfully ignorant of life’s economic facts.
Two simple actions could transform the economy. First, increase the tax-free amount to ÂŁ20k and adjust the other bands so everyone benefits. Second, reduce corporation tax to 15%, which immediately compensates businesses for the N.I. increase. There is plenty more that needs to be done, but those two simple actions would transform the UK economy quickly.

    “The government stokes inflation.”

The reason the government is stoking inflation is to make everything more expensive in order to cut demand and hence our CO2 emissions. Just as the government uses high, wasteful spending to justify high taxation, again to cut demand and CO2 emissions.

We shouldn’t be surprised with this disastrous government. A complete lack of leadership brought about because they do not have any ministers capable of fulfilling their obligations. A total lack of business acumen combined with a great deal of Marxist ideology.

It is the 1970s all over again. You cannot go on giving out large salary increases to public service people and not require extra productivity from them. Why are they so stupid in what they are doing? Probably because they know they will not be paying for their mistakes, we will. I see that Currys are giving some retail staff over the inflation rates of wage increases. This is stupid beyond belief. Inflation will rip away and it will take years to get it back under control. I don’t want to see people having to pay 17% mortgage rates like I had to and see inflation in the 20% again. I am beginning to think university training is not all it is cracked up to be seeing how illiterate the politicians we have are. When I worked at the GPO in the 1970s the new university recruits were put on a six month training with postmen in the sorting offices so that they knew the work they were taking on in their managerial posts. This should be in all forms of work so that we have people who know the type of work they are put in to control and enhance.
