The BBC has no idea what impartiality means. I watch GB News which has to balance sensible views with the view of an often wrong headed establishment in every programme. I listen to some BBC Radio 4 to keep up with what the establishment thinks we should be told and what the latest lies are to defend the often indefensible policies they are following.
Michael Prescott’s damning and well argued report to the BBC sets out part of the problem. He shows in great detail how the BBC came to rely too much on the “facts” and opinions of Hamas concerning the Israel/Hamas war. They have usually taken the very questionable figures for deaths from this terrorist group, have usually kept the Israeli case off their Arabic service, and have misreported various issues like famine and the causes of deaths of those in mass graves.
He accuses the BBC of suppressing the views of the many who think there are just two sexes and genders, and who think there should be women only spaces. He instances ways in which the trans case has excluded other views, even by those who have travelled the trans road and have worries later about what happened to them. He sets out clear bias against Donald Trump. The programme where they mis edited a speech to give the opposite intention to that of the original was also a programme where he says there were 10 people interviewed against Trump and only one in favour. He also points out that in that critical election period there was no balancing programme attacking Kamala Harris. He shows the BBC wishing to find cases of racial discrimination where there were more likely explanations of the concerns being highlighted over employment and treatment of those involved.
The BBC today is in crisis. It has lost its Director General and its Head of News at a critical time. The Board seems incapable of deciding what to do, delaying an apology over the Trump Panorama footage and now unsure about how far it has to go to win back confidence in its output. The Board needs to go further in its enquiries before settling on a longer term answer. Far from the Michael Prescott Report being the sum total of the issues, it is but a good starting point in showing just how far the BBC has drifted from impartial reporting and from giving relevant opinions a voice on their shows.
I have been involved in several big disagreements with our governing establishment in recent years. GB News has seen these are important matters that worry many voters and viewers. It has given them appropriate and balanced airtime. The BBC has never allowed me on to disagree with the stupidity of the establishment over inflation, economic growth and jobs, the pursuit of net zero, de industrialisation , the economic impact of mass migration and the truth about our ever rising public sector spending. All these matters go to heart of why so many are not better off and feel badly harmed by current economic policies. They affect so many people, with industrial jobs going and factories closing. Life is made so much more difficult for anyone who wants to drive to work and pay for their own family.
Let us take the case of net zero policies as we look on in amazement at the foolish COP 30 gathering without China, the US, India and Russia present. Who are they conning? World CO 2 has carried on upwards since the Paris Treaty of 2015 pledged countries to cut their emissions down to net zero by 2050. The BBC has refused me interviews to point out the obvious, that getting us in the UK to close down our oil and gas industry and to import instead increases world CO 2. They have not admitted that the so called “green jobs” they celebrate will mainly be in China. Getting people to buy battery cars does not help all the time they have to burn more gas in a power station when the wind is not blowing to recharge these vehicles . The UK banning all new diesel and petrol cars in 2030 helps kill off our car industry when the rest of the world will still make these products people want to buy.
Let’s remind ourselves that the BBC regards a so called independent Bank of England as the bedrock for low inflation and good economic policy, fighting political forces. Why does the BBC fail to interview the Bank about its plans (set out in OBR figures) to lose taxpayers £257 bn from second quarter of 2022 until the end of their badly bought bond portfolio? Why do they never ask why did the Bank preside over 11% inflation recently? Saying it was the result of the Ukraine war will not wash, as Switzerland. China and Japan, all big importers of energy, kept their inflation down thanks to better central banking. If the Bank is independent and has the main task of controlling inflation it clearly experienced a massive failure.
There is so much more to be said about the systematic pro establishment nonsense on the BBC. Let us hope this clear out at the top allows the BBC to understand what impartiality means. The more the BBC joins the establishment team, the more viewers will turn to the refreshing two sided debates on GB News.
November 11, 2025
It has been manifestly and painfully obvious for many years that the BBC is biased and far from impartial. I am one of many who chose not to watch or listen to their news output but rather rely upon papers , Sky & GBNewsfor information.
The BBC’s partiallity extends to:
* pro EU/Remian and anti Brexit
* pro Labour/Lib Dem /the left and nati Conservative/Reform
* pro Palestine/Hamas and anti Israel
* pro EDI, LGBT, BLM and other woke nonsense
* pro public sector and anti private
* pro Democrat and anti Republican/Trump

A good list with evidence available for each. It is Sir J’s first paragraph which caught me; it tells us why each incumbent government does nothing to return the BBC to its mandate. The second sentence tells us that government and BBC work, if not in cahoots then symbiotically, to disseminate the preferred propaganda of the incumbent administration. We always new this of course, so to have a truly independent and honest national broadcaster, it must not be funded from government directly nor indirectly under law.
The BBC is an anachronism, it should experience what we all do, ‘natural selection’.
November 11, 2025
All, except those in government, monopolies like the NHS or are unfairly subsidised like the BBC. The main thing we learned from all the leavers and the BBC supporters is they still do not get it. They live in a deluded BBC group think dream world.
November 11, 2025
Just so. The problem goes root and branch in the news department, they have an ideology that is running amok, constrained by neither journalistic professionalism nor senior management. They have to close it and start again.
We should not have to pay for this failed public service.
November 11, 2025
Also anti-landlord, anti-car and trucks, anti-business, anti-wealthy and hard working.
Also absurdly pro-climate alarmism will sensible climate realists all banned and hugely pro the net harm lockdowns and net harm Covid vaccines. They are now coving up and not reporting on the clear evidence of higher deaths and huge numbers of the vaccine harmed.
The two people resigning and others defending the BBC propaganda outfit still do not get it. Ed Davey sounded totally absurd with his pro BBC and anti-Trump and Anti-Farage rant. They just cannot see past the BBC misguided group think. But little will happen. Kier and Labour want a government Labour supporting, climate alarmist, pro open door immigration, anti-semitic and woke propaganda outfit. Paid for by enforced taxes tax on those being propagandised to.
November 11, 2025
Michael Prescott’s damning and well argued report to the BBC does indeed set out part of the problem. But he does not address their vast other delusions on climate alarmism or the appalling damage done by the covid lockdowns and covid “Vaccines” (even for people who had zero need for them even had they been safe and effective). Why no exposure of this. Or their poor post office scandal and the largely Pakistani rape gang coverage or the far higher crime rates driven by our open door immigration levels with higher proportions of criminals.
The Telegraph today covers the Prescott report well.

JR correctly says “Getting people to buy battery cars does not help all the time they have to burn more gas in a power station when the wind is not blowing to recharge these vehicles.” Even worse if burning wood at Drax or imported liquid natural gas on huge diesel tankers.
But it is even worse than that as an electric car typically need to do about 50,000 miles using v. low carbon electricity before they even cover the CO2 used to manufacture car and battery. Then they are heavier so more tyre wear (oil) and tyre particulates and more road wear (tarmac) oil again. They are usually mainly city car so all in all they do not save any particulates. Plus a new batteries is rapidly needed too as they decay rapidly and are very expensive to recycle top. If you (wrongly) do want to save CO2 keeping your old ICU car is the best way by miles!
Not even wind or solar are actually that low in CO2 per MWH after manufacture, maint, backup, the more expensive connections etc. are fully accounted for.
November 11, 2025
So in all they do not save any CO2 I meant (as too low a mileage) and not charged mainly on low CO2 electricity!
November 11, 2025
O/T but nteresting to the renewable fanatics. Australia has just suffered catastrophic failure of the 1 billion dollar Waratah grid storage battery system. Ot appears that alk these subsidy sucking schemes are totally unreliable and not fit for purpose
November 11, 2025
Why on earth in Australia especially do they need an electricity storage system? They have loads of cheap coal which is an excellent store of energy that can very rapidly and v. cheaply be converted to on demand electricity?
This or gas, or oil or nuclear fuel is the sensible way to store on demand electricity!

Two senior execs may have “fallen on their swords” but that is not enough by any stretch – the rot is endemic in the BBC.
Have the people directly involved and responsible in these misinformation exercises been censured and ideally sacked?
None of those involved, including the (at least) two execs should receive no golden goodbyes in any form. Frankly, I feel they have brought the BBC and country into such disrepute they should lose all benefits and pension rights.
All those involved should be personally stumping up all costs, fines and damages arising, the taxpayer and licence payer should not have to carry the can for this.
November 11, 2025
The rot is certainly endemic. The BBC, then with a monopoly, refused to have Churchill on the airwaves for 28 consecutive months in the run up to WWII. He had to broadcast from a boat in the Channel.
All the rest of the gangrene consuming the U.K. has been let rip because our MSM has been so rotten for so long.
The BBC is finished. Revealed to the world as ( in some cases ed)a fraud and a danger, an enemy of truth.
There is no recovery from that. The world is better off without a trusted name lying in its teeth and undercutting the civilized world in every breath.
Good riddens – let’s get Robbie Gibb a job in a proper broadcaster, that is the full extent of what is worth salvaging.
November 11, 2025
Indeed the problems have been there since the beginning. The BBC was the model for Orwell’s Minitrue. It is perhaps arguable that the BBC was important in helping maintain national morale through the difficult years of the War, but Orwell was well aware of how often it masked the truth. In the 1960s Frederick Forsyth discovered its institutional collusion with the establishment over completely false reporting of the situation in Buafra, which caused him to resign as a young reporter, having earlier learned the stronger journalistic standards of Reuters (long before those decayed in the 1990s on merger with Thompson) – written up in his autobiographical The Outsider. There are many other examples over the history, but the difference now is that instead of slipping out occasional propaganda it is now as unrelenting as Radio Tirana used to be. Even Radio Moscow used to be more subtle.
November 11, 2025
Indeed, but even the two who resigned showed in their speeches and statement that they still do not get it? Mistakes they say, the BBC is wonderful they think – this was no “mistake” it is pure institutional propaganda and blatant manipulated fraud and lies!
November 11, 2025
Also on GBNews Mark Littlewood on the £1.4 billion spent on net zero at the NHS will no reduction in CO2 & so wasted he says. It would have been wasted even had it reduced CO2 plant food Mark!

Ed Davey is reported as saying the BBC defends “British values” (i.e. Ed’s politics, near-constant misrepresention of the truth to fit their world view, an inability to ever acknowledge wrongdoing, and a rapacious appetite for others’ money).
President Trump is threatening to sue the for $1bn. Unfortunately the people responsible won’t end up footing the bill – we will. Perhaps the President could at least use any damages paid to support free speech in the UK.
November 11, 2025
If we reintroduced national service (for one to three months) then someone such as Ed Davey would have very different, more right-wing views (although in fairness to Mr Davey, I salute the way he has looked after his disabled son – kudos there).

The BBC’s traditional USP was its impartiality and accuracy. We all knew we could rely on its reporting when there was a bias in other broadcasters and newspapers. Their reliable reporting was especially needed when abroad where BBC News was often in a different league.
However the BBC turned New Labour shortly after Blair’s 1997 GE victory. It was obvious to me and many other viewers too. Then in 2020 it became Woke, which was also obvious to viewers like me, and that has been such a destructive venture.
In my opinion the BBC needs to revert to its impartial and accurate pre-1997 standards. First though it needs to acknowledge they have a partiality problem and somehow satisfy a very justifiably aggrieved US President. It’s not looking good so far.
November 11, 2025
Would that America were to declare the BBC a proscribed organisation.
November 11, 2025
There’s speculation that BBC “reporters” will be barred from any future White House presentations. I hope they do.
November 11, 2025
The BBC and Labour Party love each other so there will be no substantial change in the BBC beyond a new director general and some fine words until the current publicity blows over. Labour will definitely not seek to change the BBC’s operating model and it wouldn’t be surprising if they bake in the licence fee for a longer period when it is due for review in 2027.
BBC supporters see nothing much wrong. Alan Rusbridger writing this week basically said the misrepresentation of Trump is no big deal and is a practice not uncommon in media circles. Another reason why there will be no fundamental change.
Although GB News is not a public service and has no obligation to be impartial it also can be unfair – to its left of centre guests: yes there are often two guests in a talk show, one left and one right of centre politically, but the host is always to the right so its two against one. Jacob Rees Mogg often interrupts his left of centre guests before they have finished their points. This may explain why many of them no longer appear on his show.
Reply GB News is regulated by Ofcom and always balances or allow criticism of its line. It offers far more balance than the BBC who either refuse to interview pro Brexit, anti net zero, anti mass migration people or rapidity interrupt and overtalk them
November 11, 2025
What is Ofcom doing about the BBC? It jumps on GB News quick enough for minor infractions, but the mighty BBC rolls on biased and unchallenged until now. This may be its Waterloo. A major clearout and reorganisation is the very least it needs.
November 11, 2025
It should clearly be Conservative policy to move the BBC to a subscription + advertising model and away from the license fee which can no longer be justified. Traction is growing also for the idea of a (tax-free) distribution of shares in the BBC to license payers. With a requirement to sell services in the market to people who pay voluntarily, not under threat of prison, and with a requirement to answer to the capital markets i believe all these problems will be sorted out at the BBC.
But without it they won’t be. The statist, left wing bias runs widely and deeply.
Moving the BBC to a market model both in funding and ownership is low hanging political fruit – an excellent idea economically and for the BBC itself which would also be very popular. The Conservatives – and Reform – should grab the opportunity. Kemi should move first!
Reply I launched the free share proposal a long time ago and have argued for BBC Commercial to raise serious money from new shareholders to expand its world non UK media activities.

BBC interview techniques deserve a mention. Ever since Robin Day (remember him?) they have been aggressive and combative, hectoring and interruptive, assuming the interviewee is a liar and a scoundrel and treating him like a hostile witness.
Their purpose is to demonstrate the interviewer’s virility and the interviewee’s dishonesty. “Why is this lying bastard lying to me?”
GB News takes a different approach. The interviewee is there to share expertise with the public. He is treated with courtesy, allowed space and time to develop his thoughts, and thanked at the end.

November 11, 2025
I agree. It has been fashionable for some time to “get a politician to say the thing they don’t want to say”.
That results in silly and awkward conversations and with the listener/viewer no better informed.
As the BBC is so far to the Left, it increasingly pushes politicians of the main parties to say stuff to please the interviewer and the country ending up with bad policy.
November 11, 2025
Well the BBC do this sometimes, but often they give absurdly soft interviews to people like the mad zealot Ed Miliband, two tier Kier, the daft as a brush Lammy, stamp duty evader Rayner, unlicensed landlords Reeves, health Sec Wes Streeting. who wants to keep the very clearly unsafely convicted (and absurdly twice denied an appeal) Lucy Letby in jail. Plus wes is still absurdly injecting net harm Covid Vaccines into some people!
November 11, 2025
Yes to your article, even though it lacks solutions. Solutions you will not get under the current government who thrive on the BBC narrative. Simply put, the BBC is an audio version of the Guardian, doing irreperable damage to Great Britain. Its license tax income should cease. Those who run it should be forced into the commercial world of choice where income is dependant on subscription and advertising. Like breakfast cereal, you pay for what you choose to eat. Let the market decide.
For those that think the problem rests solely in news and current affairs, look again. The contagion has spread into much of their other output, listen with a critical ear to Country File for instance.
The BBC, just like the conservative party, are well past their sell by date. Rather than looking for reincarnation in their Reithian or Thatcherite prominence of yesteryear, they should accept that they have drifted too far down the road of no return and are no longer a marketable product, much like the pennyfarthing.
November 11, 2025
Sir John, it is not a case of the BBC joining the establishment team. The BBC is part of the establishment team that is its identity. It is the broadcasting arm of that establishment which is why it refuses to allow any dissenting opinions from you, or from any of us who wish to challenge the preferred narrative pushed out by BBC broadcasts and its program makers.
The current revelations about BBC bias are only in the news because it was a line by line critique of BBC political and positional bias by their own watchdog which ultimately they could not avoid engaging with.
The situation at the national broadcaster will not change or improve until the whole of the senior and many of the junior management teams are dismissed. They have settled into partisan/political allegiance that is preventing balanced coverage of affairs.
The shameful attempt by the chairman to simply say sorry and move on, is not going to satisfy anyone.
November 11, 2025
I am livid that the President Trump furore and subsequent Sir Robbie Day is a disruptor defence has overshadowed the confirmed editorial bias in matter of sex, weather and leaving the EU. Add in welfare recipients and immigration and a root and branch reform of BBC ideologies might be missed as focus is given the the Panorama debacle.
Present the facts, not the doctored facts
November 11, 2025
They also have Nigel Nelson as GB News’s Senior Political Commentator, also I assume either to keep Ofcom happy or for comedy reasons or both?
November 11, 2025
Comedy potential, I think.
I’ve thought for a while that GB News has deliberately found the most idiotic lefties it can to put “their side” of the argument, particularly when it comes to the Net Zero insanity. The only exception is Lord Glasman.
November 11, 2025
BBC do a similar thing: putting “Conservative” wets on air and claiming they are actual Conservatives
November 11, 2025
Indeed!
November 11, 2025
Lost faith in the BBC years ago, now view GB news, as it is far more interesting to listen to two opposite view points, and you then make a judgement yourself on the merits or not of each argument presented, the only fault being sometimes the lack if time for either side to develop their arguments fully, but then If you want to know more, dig a bit deeper yourself.
November 11, 2025
The BBC is institutionally biased as it sees life through a Left prism. It cannot or will not see that it is biased and will continue on the same left looking path until it’s disbanded. I used to be an avid Radio 4 listener and had listened to The Archers for 50+ years but it all became so Woke and ridiculous that I gave up in total disgust. It sees the countryside through an Islington bias and as for Countryfile …..well that went down the drain years ago. The BBC does not represent rural life in any way shape or form.
November 11, 2025
Many, many years ago (c1976/77) I put myself and my management team on a TV and radio training course. Most of the tutors were well known BBC journalists. One piece of advice they gave was: “never do a recorded interview, only do live interviews; otherwise your words will be edited to change the meaning to what the editors want it to mean”.
I was reminded of that advice when reading about the Panorama hatchet job on Trump’s speech.
It is also clear that the job of all BBC editors, whether of news, politics, drama, comedy and the rest is to promote the prevailing BBC propaganda line. That became obvious in 2000s as the climate change agenda unfolded. Opposing voices and opinions were suppressed.
The BBC is beyond redemption in its current format. The licence fee should end. It should be required to sink or swim on its ability to raise revenues through a mix of advertising and subscriptions. Jacob Rees-Mogg has just posted some good ideas about how this might be achieved.
November 11, 2025
And would the BBC ir the Government, left to themselves, have ever revealed the existence of the Prescott repert? Let’s hope Trump sues.
November 11, 2025
To think this is as nothing compared to the NHS. Reform will have the fight of their lives against the establishment in Labour Conservative and Libdem.
November 11, 2025
And the disaster of Education. Controlling the media and education is critical to subjugation of any nation.
November 11, 2025
Evidence reveals that the BBC Board were aware of Prescott’s claims, but treated those as an internal matter.
They either diregarded it or intentionally covered it up by not having it known publicy.
The whole Board bears responsibility, and they can’t disregard it now!
November 11, 2025
It appears the Board knew of the Panorama scandal for six months and did nothing. Maybe because they wanted enough time to elapse so Trump couldn’t sue under British Law, which they have achieved. In any event, they should all be removed for their disgraceful behaviour. They have not served the BBC or this country well.
November 12, 2025
Yes, there are 15 or so of them. Apart from the cover-up itself, they should have been aware of how bad things already were to prevent such rogue broadcasts from starting. A competent Director General should be adequate for the task. The Board appears to be a unneeded worthless duplication adding waste, damage and worse.
November 11, 2025
Everyone thinks they are balanced and it’s the other guy who’s biased. So it is in the Guardianista cabal of BBC News. They live in their own echo chamber. I heard there was a wake after the vote to leave the EU, just no one in their number found it something to celebrate. I was cocker hoop.
November 11, 2025
A wake after the vote to leave the eu and, by contrast, celebrations after Tony Blairs/ election victory:

November 11, 2025
Two departures is hardly a clearly out. Whilst all this bias has been going on the Board appears to have been quite placid. And as for the letter of “apology” by the Chairman it is half hearted and overlooks the delay in taking action following upon the report to the Board. A clear out of the Board and further departures in the News Departments is required given that the culture needs to be changed.
November 11, 2025
But in doing that it meant that the BBC had to have sympathy for Hamas and their objectives. The BBC has always been pro-Hamas. Has always leaned to the left.
Once the BBC decides which side of the fence they sit they stick with it, no matter what the evidence is – Those decisions all too often approve left wing ideas rather than anything else, and that’s how it was with alleged MMCC. The BBC had a big conference last century to work out which side they should be on. Again, this was the wrong approach, because it meant all reporting favoured the establishment view on climate change – no other view point was allowed into their broadcasting.
Apart from removing fixed views from the BBC we need HMG to make it stand on it’s own feet without the licence fee – a touch of real world economics will do wonders for it’s approach to life.

What is the Chairman’s name? Just on the tip of my tongue ….
November 11, 2025
I gather one of his relatives runs Radio 4.
November 11, 2025
Sir John
Why are we still calling the BBC output as being bias, when at best it is just propaganda?
Intended to manipulate opinions and direction. The BBC has not been reporting just things as they are. Even yesterday when Farage gave a speech, as soon as he reached the bit to talk about impartiality they cut him off.
November 11, 2025
I agree that it is propaganda.
The political polarity of the propaganda is plain to see, especially yesterday when we could see from which side of the politcial fence the BBC’s defenders – politicians, newspapers etc were from.
The fact that they tried to defend the indefensible did not stop them.
November 11, 2025
Sir John
Why are we charged what is essentially a tax for just having a device that can receive the BBC? When clearly the majority that are forced to pay this tax have no inclination to receive its output.
A new Board that is impartial is probably now impossible, as someone being political neutral would be hard to find. The only way I could conceive that the so-called news and current affairs programs could now be aired is for each of the UK(UK owned) media outlets to take it in turns to produce these programs – then at least the pretence of impartiality is removed.
Remove the ‘tax’ and remove Parliament involvement at any stage going forward.
The big concern would be the that Secretary of State for Culture should be kept well clear she has already stated a view that parliament must stamp out miss-information to protect the nation. When it is the nation that should be protected from her and her ilk, we have seen 2TK’s version of the implementation of the laws, rules and regulations.
November 11, 2025
The core problem problems with the BBC are historic and similar to:-
The Post Office Scandal – it’s own legal enforcement to prosecute,
NHS Scandals, cover-up, silence whistle blowers, politicised woke,
Police ditto and many major national bodies.
The BBC has been allowed to grow too big well beyond its core business and remit and misinterpreted its duty to represent the Country, Britain and the United kingdom and mission creep to favour the Left.
Common traits that muddy the waters are:-
Committee decision making produces the proverbial Camel
Groupthink safety
Bureaucracy red tape inaction
Cumulative impact
Don’t rock the boat
Inflexible unionised employees and workforce
Jobs for life, No one gets fired
Too big to fail, more money please.

Broadcasters esp can do easily change the story by just 1 word or slight emphasis. The Standard model has to be above reproach, pure as the driven snow.
To me the faked Bashir Diana interview was the BBC watershed moment.
It is so easy to change the story by criminal underhand tactics and then have the temerity for bosses to celebrate and cover up for decades since.

BBC bias is not only obvious, it is has been proved time and again after being the subject of plenty of studies.
David Keighley has spent many years documenting the problems at the BBC. His website is here: https://news-watch.co.uk/
The research he has gathered is here: https://news-watch.co.uk/monitoring-projects-and-reports/
There have been some books written about left-wing bias at the BBC, such as Robin Aitken’s “Can We Trust the BBC?“
Until recently, getting any book or research aired on the BBC was a “must”. It’s no surprise that none of the authors were invited into BBC studios to talk about their work which left them almost invisible to the public.
That said, most of the evidence of bias is out there right now provided by the BBC itself. This BBC propaganda lists the benefits of belonging to the eu:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/6455879.stm
The list mainly consists of items which had already been law in the UK in the first place in one form or another. This was misleading propaganda.
I have hundreds of examples like this one. I used to complain but gave up when it became clear the BBC did not take complaints seriously and OFCOM were fans of the BBC.
The BBC needs to get rid of the “correspondents”, stop chairing debates and simply provide facts.
It is not a newspaper with an “angle”. It needs to remove the opinion and stop the snobby attitude towards the “tories”, Nigel Farage and Donald Trump.
It needs to treat the British People with some respect.

“Let us hope this clear out at the top allows the BBC to understand what impartiality means.”
insufficient as it runs through the whole organisation from bottom to top.
Have those that edited and produced the Panorama “documentary” on Trump been sacked?

Ofcom should tell the BBC to adopt the GB News model and allow differing views to be discussed. This has not been the case for CAGW and Net Zero since 2018 if not earlier. At an ES&NZ Select Committee oral evidence session on 03/09/2025 on the subject “Building Support for the Energy Transition” Dr. Harrabin (Cambridge, English), a former energy and environment analyst for the BBC, told the Committee: “Things changed when Fran Unsworth, who was then head of [BBC] news [in 2018], made a declaration with a rather odd phrase which was, “The referee has blown his whistle, and the game is over, and we no longer have to have an oppositional voice on climate change.”” We have been constantly gaslit and lied to on the subject of CAGW and Net Zero. It has to stop before our energy, economy and national security is sabotaged beyond repair. The BBC should really call itself ‘UK Pravda’. That our national broadcaster refuses to allow alternative viewpoints to be heard makes our nation a disgrace in the eyes of democracies
November 11, 2025
It’s too late for the BBC. They are hysterical when an announcer calls ‘pregnant people’ women.
Pravda means ‘truth’ and I am sad and ashamed to say that the BBC is not in the same league as Pravda. The BBC has brought our country and our name into distribute. It has maligned us as much as it maligned Trump.
Close the doors and sell the property to reimburse those it attacked, not least Netanyahu, Putin and Thatcher and sue the staff individually who put together and broadcast these mendacious and pellucidly misleading and stupid pieces.

…and they never question climate change nor the governments policies of net-zero

A very summary of the facts. The failure of the BBC is about people, from the top down. The issues are the same for almost all of us but selective recruiting has submerged logic and commonsense in a mire of left wing wokeness. It will not change until the people at the BBC are changed. Two resignation are nothing like enough.

Some of our big problems would be resolved if we reintroduced National Service for one to three months.
Lack of national service helps to breed socialism, WOKENESS and wimpy / nice-guy men / lack of patriotism / over-reliance on state instead of on self and family.
November 11, 2025
You would have to call up the women as well.
They would not learn to march in 3 months.
In SA the mandatory military service was 3 years.

“All these matters go to heart of why so many are not better off and feel badly harmed by current economic policies.”
This is the inevitable result of the PM and many in influential positions in Parliament, the Civil Service, the 444 quangos, academia, the BBC and most of the MSM and the judiciary being members or former members of The Fabian Society.
November 11, 2025
The BBC has no idea what impartiality means. In those words, you sum up exactly the problem with the BBC. I could not believe my ears when the Chairman said the Trump-edited speech was a mistake. That was deliberate in attempting to smear Trump. Have the editor and journalist involved been sacked? Then the head of BBC News claimed there was no bias in the BBC News, in her resignation speech.
Nick Robinson and John Simpson then showed the real attitude of BBC staff. They think they are above criticism and anyone questioning their impartiality is an arrogant pig. They should go and look in a mirror.
But with this Government, nothing will change, another leftie/liberal will be appointed as DG. The BBC Chairman, or should that be Chairperson, also came across as weak and wishy-washy, totally useless.

‘a useful idiot?’
November 11, 2025
It been updated I believe to ‘a useful infidel’.

Have the BBC ever offered you, David Frost, Jacob Rees Mogg an opportunity to do a pro Brexit program post the vote? Or any other Brexit supporter?
Reply Not me. They never wanted me on as capable of putting a well researched case for Brexit.
November 11, 2025
There is a heresy in this country that patriotism – for some – is a bad thing.
Sovereignty is part of patriotism.
I disagreed with some / many of the tactics / strategy of many Brexiters but I am as pro – if not more pro – sovereignty as them.
Not to give a voice to Brexiters on BBC was / is unfair, wrong, small-minded and I can think of worse words that I won’t repeat here. Openess and discussion leads to better results.
November 11, 2025
What ‘tactics/ strategy’ did you disapprove?
Sovereignty is NOT ‘part of patriotism’.
Without sovereignty there is NOTHING which can command patriotism because the country does not exist.

The fact that CAGW/Net Zero is not allowed to be discussed on the BBC is surely proof that the climate alarmists know they have a very weak case. This is why the BBC not only refuse to allow any alternative opinions to be broadcast on their many channels/programmes in clear breach of freedom of speech, but are also not prepared to send their disinformation specialist, Social Media Investigation Correspondent, Marianna Spring (Oxford, French & Russian) to interview scientists who not believe that we have a climate crisis, such as Happer, Wigngaarden, Koonin, Moore and John Clauser the 2022 Physics Nobel Prize winner. According to Wikipedia Marianna Spring worked in Russia contributing news articles to The Moscow Times.

This BBC failure just gets worse. The disgraced DG who resigned because of the actual contrived fake projection of what the President of the USA said, has just reported he is very proud of the BBC journalists and all that they do?
In which case why did he resign?
I hope the Trump ream sue him personally and the entire team of Panorama producers. They are all smugly hiding behind the fact the tax payer will have to fund the penalty cost of their misguided attempt to mispresent reality.
Make those who committed the crime pay the bill.
November 11, 2025
Trump has demanded an apology AND USD 1 billion by Friday.
Else he will sue.
November 11, 2025
Well done John
I am not a supporter of the PM but he did approach the King and a second state visit
was organised for President Trump. This was important for our country and all of us.
The BBC needs to eat much humble pie and make an immediate apology.
The BBC does not represent us and is damaging our country
November 11, 2025
When the outgoing BBC director General says that the BBC will “thrive” and says they will continue to fight for “our journalism” (note not “impartial journalism” or simply “journalism”) he is probably right given that our PM was a senior member of the Fabian Society before becoming an MP and how Pravda thrived in the Soviet era.
November 11, 2025
Completely agree. As an ex Corporation employee I feel The DG’s comments on the news today were unacceptable.
November 11, 2025
The DG has said that Trump is ‘weaponising’ the lies told by the BBC against it.
The DG has said that they are fighting for freedom of speech.
The BBC weaponised its shielded power against truth.
The BBC is fighting for the right to lie to the world using the good name of Britain.
If we don’t disband this evil organisation, we will be complicit.
Whether the BBC could have been financially viable is moot.
They have killed themselves off.
