The David Moore podcast interview with me about net zero, growth and CANZUK is on You tube.
Have not yet watched the podcast. But I want to congratulate JR on his persistence, a lesson for us all.
Not only has the BOE selling bonds at a huge loss be taken up, but Sky News has just broadcast this:
‘If Labour actually cared about reducing carbon emissions and making us less dependent on imports from Qatar they would do *MORE* drilling in the North Sea. (With a graph)
@Ed_Miliband’s entire Net Zero argument DESTROYED in 2 minutes’

Indeed.
Sir John says all the sensible things as usual. He is even described as an “energy expert” I am not sure I would go quite that far but relative to Starmer, Ed Miliband, Cameron, Theresa May, Boris, Sunak… he is clearly an energy genius.
If only the Tories had followed the Redwood line for all his career our economy would surely be at least double the size, our public services would actually work, our energy would be far cheaper and more reliable, our defence hugely better… the UK has largely stagnated for 30 years.

Dear Lord Redwood
I am so glad to notice that you are now paying attention to CANZUK. It’s about time.
What the “west” needs now is a triumvirate of the following:
1 USA (now decoupled from NATO and “doing their own thing” (which is what they’ve always done in point of reality).
2. EU is EU ……
3 CANZUK – brother nations who understand each other *and is the only one of the three that has a truly global reach*.
What’s not to like about that? What is stopping us?
Lynn Atkinson March 19, 2026
What is stopping us is that Canada is being destroyed by Carney and worse. Debunking, seizing of private funds, euthanasia and worse!
Albanese says Aussies ‘can vote to go back to the Australia of the 1950’s or 1960’s with a majority White European Aussie population or you can vote for his Globalist One World Communist Government which Aussies are the minority in their own’ and that ‘going back will NOT happen’.
124,000 left New Zealand last year, Ardern being one of them having caused the spike of suicides as a direct result of her WEF politics.
All have unfettered immigration and we have enough problems trying to control the murderous British Government – who have legalised infanticide – without suborning ourselves to three other dangerous, I feel like saying lunatic governments.

Correct, we need cheap energy but even more importantly we need secure energy. Professor Sir Dieter Helm, Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Oxford, who wrote in 2017 the government’s “Cost of Energy Review”, ends his 24/02/2026 podcast #83 entitled “The Energy Security Gap” thus: “The reason why there are so many opportunities to improve our energy security is because it is very hard to conceive of any energy policy which could be making us LESS energy secure and LESS helpful as a policy towards the defence of the realm, the primary requirement of any government before anything else is considered.” Now why would our Fabian led government want to make our energy so insecure?
PM May did her best to sabotage Brexit and I am now convinced that she called an early snap election in 2017, which surprised almost everyone, with the intention of losing the election and hoping that the incoming administration would cancel it.

CANZUK, a great idea, peoples wanting to get on, cooperate, work together for a mutual benefit. All tied together through similar background and up-bringing, similar language, similar standards . Able to work towards a common defence and trading partnership. The project has failed to get out of the starting block, political ego wanted to interfere, they wanted it to be them, the political ideologues as the ruling class, that dictated, creating cultures and people in their own personal image. They wanted a political block first and foremost.
The UK started as the outlier, it ditched the principles of ‘English Law’ to follow the Napoleon way, ditched free-speech and democracy. CANZ could still work and be a powerful coming together of like minded people, but the UK bit?
Politicians can’t help themselves they create more problems than the solve, some times in life things ‘just are’ interfering is searching for praise.

Great interview, full of wisdom and good sense as I would expect.
Only thing was your interviewer David Moore at the beginning of your interview kept smiling at you in a very strange way. Looked really really odd!…
Lord Redwood
I viewed this podcast with great interest firstly the E.U. though on my twenties at the time of the vote I voted to leave, it was an unfair election at the time as there was a lot of money thrown at the join campaign as opposed to Leave. Decades on I am still of that opinion it was one of the biggest mistakes this country ever made and like you I was overjoyed when the vote was won to leave, even though Starmer is trying to rejoin through the back door we must resist at all cost. Canzuk was also of interest to me, I had never heard of it until my son James Skinner set up Canzuk International whilst at University he could see the potential of such an alliance with the Commonwealth countries of similar Economies, English speaking and similar Cultures.
