By elections

I am not writing about the by elections before the results and will not publish partisan comments on them prior to the poll. There are so many candidates that balanced coverage needs to mention.

    Thank you Lord John.
Your words as ever make absolute sense.
You are the master of common sense.
    Long may you prevail.
    Best wishes

‘ There are so many candidates …’

So much in-fighting too. Talk of split votes and pleas for candidates to be stood down.

In response to yesterday’s article ‘populists can lose their popularity’

So can established parties – Whigs and Liberals for example.

I assume my post yesterday was because it featured a response from a particular party.

It was not intended as promotion for that party, which I think has little hope of success.

It was more a case of an average person laying out the political problems we have had since the Second World War.

Yes, that seems fir enough. If only the BBC and the press would follow your lead, Sir John. They always seem obsessed with turning every by-election into a circus.
