Good Friday

I joined the Christians at the Catholic Church on Good Friday for hot cross buns and conversation. We followed the Cross to the Marketplace and Peach Place, where music and acting brought the story of the crucifixion to Wokingham. We then went to a short service at All Saints.

I would like to thank all who organised and took part in these events. The play was well acted with moving speeches.

The goodness of our nation’s traditions needs preserving. Christianity is at the heart of so many who help others to help themselves for the enjoyment of all.

    Hi sir John
    Happy Easter to you
Our churches are closing on a monthly basis our standards are disappearing
There is little belief in our country.
But ther are some religions where houses of worship are being built all over the country
    That are family oriented

Good to hear you took part in Christian worship today, Sir John. Whether we are ‘easy believers’ or hard nuts to ‘believing’..is not anyone’s fault, now, is it? What we all have in common..as is ever pointed out to us..is the fact that we were brought up (If you were born in this country) in a ‘System’ based on christian values. No bad thing at all. Let us all bear this in mind..Whatever our adult mind has brought us to accepting. I’m eager to add here: We all have reasons for many of our thoughts and beliefs. Correct? Being a simple soul..(not my fault in any way: I never asked to be born in the first place. Did you?)..I bear in mind the 12 apostles. Do we all realise that 11 of them ‘willingly’ (ok, praps not so willingly) let themselves be ‘hanged, drawn and quartered’ for their insistence that JC was the Man for them. He was the Genuine One. (One disciple John got away with it living a long and possibly peaceful life). Allow me to say: They were not all ‘self-haters’ (+) or masochists etc. The were not all idiots. If any of them. It impresses me. I have to accept they ‘knew’ things. Ones which were simply the case. The scenario being: ‘Sod the pain just now. I know I’m called upon now to be a martyr. I so wish it were different”…Oo, urr..
