Wokingham Borough’s development

I arranged a meeting for the Leader of Wokingham Council to meet the new Minister for Housing. Mr Hopkins, in Westminster yesterday. The aim was to continue the close working between central and local government established by Mr Lee the Leader and Mr Prisk when he was Minister.

    I am all for a close working relationship with anyone, but pray tell us to what end was this meeting arranged.

    To gain more Government finance, given we are the lowest Funded Council in the Country ?.

    To resist more housing development, and to stop the Town being swamped by housing ?

    To gain some grants for the new Town redevelopment plan ?

    To talk about infrastructure and new roads ?

    Reply To sort out planning and financing issues between the Council and the government as and when these arise.

      Could be all four of the above, that would be a result worth celebrating !!!!
