Night Flights Consultation

In light of the problems with aircraft noise and nights flights in the constituency I have lobbied Ministers, Heathrow and the National Air Traffic Services (NATS). Please find below the letter I have written to Department of Transport in response to their consultation on night flights.

I would also strongly encourage residents to contribute to the consultation which ends on 28 February at: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/night-flight-restrictions-at-gatwick-heathrow-and-stansted.

Move the airport to Boris Island and you can have flights all night long without disturbing anyone (except fish). Solved that for you, next question.

HS2? cancel, save £100 billion (my latest estimate).

7am would be more preferable than 6, but 4.30 is an absolute joke. I grew up under the flight path and it is far worse today than it was then.

It is a shame as a country we haven’t bitten the bullet on Heathrow and looked to close it down, completely the wrong location. The current owners knew the risks when they bought it.

Most people under the flight paths arrived after it became a major airport, knowing the downside of noise.

I suppose the more traffic in the air , the need for a quicker decent would be imperative, unless circling took place and then more continuous air noise would be apparent.

Similar problems occur in Heald Green Manchester.
