At the outset, Mark referred to SJR’s service as an MP ending in 2004, shaving off 20 years. Beyond that the whole discussion was excellent, full of high quality, common sense and ways in which our country can greatly improve.

Thanks for that John great interview
Can you comment on why the BBC says that leaving the EU reduced our GDP ?
Reply Because they follow Remain briefing which keep repeating a false forecast made in the referendum

Good to hear your thoughts on Trump, Starmer’s activities, the Bank and civil service and what Kemi should best do.
It is troubling to speculate as I do that the Starmer government might be too fond of pandering to the E.U. to allow itself the freedon to cope effectively or at all with Trump.

I looked for this on google but ended up with you energy, climate one of two years back. You talk a lot of sense i. general. But there is clearly no manmade CO2 emergency it is all clearly all a blatant con. Yes “if” all other things are equal a bit more CO2 will raise temperature very slightly but that is on balance good anyway and all other things will certainly not be equal especially with a rise in temperature.

I’m surprised that the tory machine didn’t select you for a peerage ….the tories are indeed lost in their own endeavours
Lifelogic December 22, 2024
I am not surprised but if anyone deserved a peerage it is surely JR – even if just two years back he still almost or half accepts the climate emergency religion/con trick, has not be strong enough in criticising the appalling net harm vaccines still being pushed, the unsafe Lucy Letby conviction or the dire “six months early why” Sunak.
Reply I have consistently opposed damaging net zero policies and did not vote for the Climate Change targets.

And that’s why they won’t give you a peerage.

This is compelling viewing and I very much enjoyed watching it. I am encouraged the Conservative Party are evolving into a type of Conservatism the public would like to see and there should be a gripping period ahead.
There is much else I liked but in the interests of brevity I really liked Mark Littlewood’s questions and I hope the Conservative Party are grasping what you say John. It is you they need to engender Conservative principles from and it is your thinking and policies which need to prevail. We are in the mess we are in because successive leaders and seniors deviated from authentic Conservatism. They didn’t modenise it they ditched it and look at us now.
I am certain the Conservative Party can be reconditioned and realigned but I believe this is our only meaningful chance to get it right so it is imperative it happens this time.
