I am glad the Shadow Home Secretary escaped the man with the knife when he was visiting the Calais jungle yesterday. Chris Philp had gone to see for himself what actions and support we are now getting from the French authorities to stop the boats and smash the gangs. The government claims its 1 for 1 deal will deter the illegal migrants. Chris Philp found it has made no difference. The government says the French will now stop more boats but there no evidence. The Shadow Home Secretary reported that the area of the camp at Calais was lawless and without police.
We now see a 100 person migrant ferry boat, no small rib. This indicates big growth in this illegal business, with those involved showing complete scorn for the French and UK governments. Illegal migrants hit new highs in numbers and arrests are down on the previous year. Labour’s dilution of the law and scrapping of Rwanda has made things worse.
The government should see its offer of good hotels and benefits is too generous. Its failure to deport is fatal. People are in no mood to pay more tax to finance this catastrophic policy failure to keep our borders safe.

I have it via good authority that the boats that land on UK shores are being shipped back to France. I also have found out that the vast amount on illegal immigration into the UK still comes via a back of a lorry.
This matter could be solved very quickly if we took adequate measures. Some I can mention here others not. One I can and that the UK government has been told about, is to reduce the level of benefits these people recieve. The government is attracting these people and knows it.
The reason(s) are simple. One is to deliberately destabilize the country.

As an aside the UK courts have allowed Total, the French oil company to decommission the floating Gryphon gas and oil distribution hub. The decision was made to conform to the UK s net zero timetable. 200 jobs are lost plus 12,000 barrels of oil and a significant amount of gas per day lost. 5 rigs are to be shutdown and thus ruling will speed up the decommissioning of further marginal rigs.

I totally agree. I also think that the RNLI and the Border Force boats that taxi the migrants onto our shores should be treated in the same way as truckers are when stowaways are found in their trucks – fined £2000 for every single migrant. The RNLI and the Border Force are no better than the traffickers and we can actually see their passengers unlike the poor truckers who in the main have no idea that illegals have climbed aboard their vehicles and, if they find any, would be too frightened to tackle them.
I think, too, that the French could do a lot more – for a start they should be shamed for allowing overcrowded unsafe vessels from leaving their shores and they should be arresting and prosecuting all the charities and volunteers that keep the camps in Dunkirk, Calais and so on supplied with goods and food which only encourages the migrants to make their way to the coast ready to sail to the land of milk and honey.

They want the UK to set up legal asylum routes so the country can take in a hundred times more. Currently only fit young men with a bit of money can make the journey, leaving the poor, old and infirm to tough it out in their country of origin and it’s just not fair. If the country collapses under the strain, well that just serves the UK right for all its colonial past.
Roll on the next general election. Perhaps the country will wake up by then. In the last election twice the number that voted Labour stayed at home and didn’t bother to vote. Well people, that’s what happens when you don’t bother.

Offer illegal immigrants return to country of origin or country of choice that will have them. What is left deport to a labour camp in West Falkland. This I submit would deter the crossings.
Round up those already here and floating freely, estimated at 2 million, and offer them the same choices, departure to country of origen or choice or remote incarceration.
Rethink the level of and quality of immigration that suits us and apply it annually.
Train our indigenous population for labour market shortages while at the same time radically reforming the current out of control benefit system. Ensure that those in real need are better treated and those currently making spurious out of work lifestyle choices have no choice.
Remove our upper echelon police force management, promoting thief takers to replace them. We had 24 year old Group Captains and even younger ladies delivering Spitfires in WW2, so don’t tell me it cannot be done.
Send a very firm message to all who need to hear it. We in the UK have one principal language, english, so learn it. We have one law with contributions from Scotland, live within it. Forget about any other.
The above is a plan that awaits the next government along with many more radical changes to what is negating good democratic government today in the UK.

Good morning, Sir John – this scandal has been long in the making. I recall articles and debates in the papers, during the years of both Mr Brown’s and Mr Cameron’s governments. The solution presented was the approach the then Australian government took: nobody in, no ‘refugees’ – and they made this quite explicit on social media.
Here in the UK – well, by now we know about the ‘taxi service’ provided by the Border Force. Also, France has been given enough of our money, to pay for more control at Calais, to pay for more police patrols: it’s all not working.
Unless we abandon the ECHR and literally stop all those boats crossing the Channel – something the RN ought to be able to do – this won’t stop.
What to do with those already here … well, that’s a question for another day.

No surprise the French Police were not in attendance at the Jungle and many other camps like it, many reporters have found the same situation when they have visited such over the years.
We tend to visit France every year, and Yes there is security within the Ports to check documentation, we have also been pulled over at random for further questioning on occasion, having the steering wheel and door handles swabbed at the same time, and I have absolutely no problem with that, even though it does cause a bit of a delay to the journey.
I have no idea if the French actually prosecute anyone trying to leave France without paperwork, my impression is they just let them loose to try again, and again, and again, until they give up or succeed.
Outside of the Ports or Channel tunnel complex themselves, they do not appear to be pro-active at all.
Lots and lots of security fencing that we have apparently paid for can be seen, probably the reason why they now use boats, as well as the tried and trusted ones that have also been successful in the past.
Neither the French Government or our own appear to be really serious about stopping the problem, otherwise they would have done something more sensible and simple to stop it.

They are not illegal migrants – the second they enter UK territory they all, without fail, claim asylum from which point they are not here illegally. Nothing material will be done to stop all this. All English town centres are set to have no go areas. There will soon be major growth in the number of local security firms to which people living centrally, and in suburbs, pay an annual subscription for local patrols and enhanced property security measures with England becoming more and more like South Africa in that respect. No political party is willing to commit to the only real solution to prevent this getting any worse, namely stopping the boats at the Channel border and returning the migrants to the French beaches. Most MPs want all this to continue. After all, Yvette Cooper’s announcement of 300 more officials to deal with the asylum backlog simply means rubber stamping most of the migrants’ applications.
In a normal country one could surely expect Left and Right to unite in the face of this clear threat to our way of life and the safety of our people, even of our children. But no, read the Guardian and that is far from the case. There is no hope, we have to prepare for the worst as best we can.

If migrants were given the opportunity to claim asylum from outside the UK (other countries already permit such applications), those whose claim was approved could use a safe means to get to the UK and would not need to engage with the criminals.

I believe I have the answer to stopping the swarm of illegal migrants and it could be implemented immediately. I mentioned a few months ago I thought a State of Emergency should be declared and about a year ago that I thought the Ascension Island was a good idea. There would be typical army infrastructure for the illegal migrants on the island eg British Army tents, water tanks, canteens etc (which is perfectly adequate for our boys).
The illegal migrants would therefore not set foot on UK soil (they would be picked up and have temporary stay onboard a Royal Navy vessel which will transport them directly to Ascension Island) so there would be limited legal obstruction.
None of them would want to pay GBP 5,000 to go to Ascension Island to then be deported etc. It is therefore the ultimate deterrent as they would never achieve their aims of becoming a British citizen, have a British offspring, housed for free in hotels, free NHS treatment, get GBP 47 / week free and an ATM card, and able to work in the black market too etc. If we had done this in 2018 the few hundred arrivals would have become a trickle then the inflow would have stopped altogether in 2019.
There is no risk of Ascension Island being filled with illegal migrants when they are paying for a round trip home via Ascension Island. They will choose other European destinations instead like France, Germany, Italy and Spain and we would be free of this problem.

Macron and Starmer could stop the boats in days if they wanted simply by returning all illegal migrants immediately upon landing straight back to France on a secure UK naval vessel. If there is no such co-operation from Macron then the UK should refuse to come and collect boats that are being escorted by the French navy as clearly they are in no danger and the French aren’t going to abandon them in mid Channel are they? Especially after giving them their returnable lifejackets. It is obvious French Police are either incompetent, stupid or deliberately complicit in allowing huge inflatable boats to be launched. Drone or satellite surveillance is obviously not being utilised! Why? Surely French authorities have the capability to surveil the beaches and estuary’s around Calais. It takes time and manpower to inflate a huge inflatable! Did the Dutch Army make do with tents or did they have to be put up in the local Inns across the country ?

Denmark’s left-wing government is taking a tough stance (in relations to other European countries) on immigration.
Just because we have a left-wing government in power, doesn’t mean we should give up hope. Rather, we should be working with Labour to bring immigration down a lot. If Labour remain moderate in everything else but tough on immigration, then that would give us some breathing space to get another Tory government in power without Labour doing too much damage in the meantime.

We have had years of weak governments, now followed by an even weaker one. High office exposes the character of the PM, the Cabinet and MPs. We have not had a single PM tough enough to take action against France in the last 25 years. Immigration is at the root of all the problems in the UK. Housing, GPs, Schools, Hospitals, Roads and government spending. There are none as blind as those who will not see!
Our governments and MPs have been deliberately blind to the problems and refuse to act.
Their arrogance in ignoring voters’ concerns is unbelievable. We need a recall system for MPs and referendums on major subjects. The immigration problem could be solved by tough action, but we have elected a bunch of cowards who run away rather than face their responsibilities! The UK will shortly explode in anger.

I think that’s the intention. The Establishment will use it to justify more authoritarian policies to clamp down on “right wing thugs” and to introduce the total Surveillance and Control Society, complete with Digital ID and a Chinese-style Social Credit System they crave, so that if you step out of line your “privileges” can be withdrawn.

I believe that this government is trying its best to import as many of these people as it can before the next general election. Tony Blair and Labour opened the floodgates and this Labour government is continuing his work.
I think the purpose is to dilute the voting population, with an eventual final result of getting the U.K. back into the EU. Some cultures will vote for whoever they’re told to vote for with a monetary incentive with postal votes allowing this to happen.
They don’t want a strong Britain they want to be able to control us. There’s dark forces behind this invasion. As for the French, they don’t want them why should they stop it.

I was accused, at time, of being left wing for opposing Blair’s decision to go to war in Afghan and Iraq (I strongly support war when needed). .
Now we’re getting people from these countries trying to emigrate to the UK precisely because of these daft wars.
So thanks to these daft wars:
1) Increased immigration from these countries to UK
2) Most importantly the lost of our life our military (and loss of life in general)
3) But, also, billions this war cost for the British tax payer
4) And considerable geo-political fall out in these areas – directly and indirectly affecting the UK
So I was the true right-winger, for opposing these daft wars before they happened and still (although that doesn’t justify how we pulled out of Afghan – that’s another matter).

From today’s European Conservative regarding Greece today: “migrants whose asylum applications have been definitively rejected will be required to wear electronic ankle bracelets for 30 days prior to their deportation. This system will allow the authorities to track their movements and prevent them from remaining illegally”.
If our government was serious it would do this sort of thing. Incidentally I’m not convinced the Greek government is serious either (what if your failed asylum seeker disappears before the ankle bracelet is used?).

I’ve got my passport and the means to simply board a ferry to France tomorrow if I wanted but I wonder if the French authorities would provide me with free hotel accommodation, a free mobile telephone and a weekly cash allowance were I to claim asylum upon arrival
