Many have had enough of government failure to control our borders. The protesters and the millions who agree with them are not racists. They are not against migrants because of their race, creed or colour. They are against criminals. They are against anyone who breaks the law to get into our generous country wherever they come from.
The people who come on boats are often breaking several laws
1. It is against the law to seek illegal entry
2. It is against the law to pay money to a criminal gang to bring them to the UK. They are financing the crimes of the gang which probably include money laundering, tax dodging, other illicit trading.
3. They knowingly get on a dangerous unlicensed boat. Those who do bring children are putting the child’s life at risk.
4. They may take up illegal work when they have been told they should not.
5 As soon as they work they are tax dodging and become benefit cheats.
As far as many protesters are concerned some young male illegal migrants are trying to jump housing queues and extract benefits and public service support on false pretences. The public wants the Uk authorities to know who anyone is, where they came from and if they have a criminal record before accepting them.
Many communities resent the priority given to housing and paying them.At a time when UK citizens are put on long waiting lists for social housing and have to play by the rules to get benefits there is resentment at how the normal rules do not apply to these illegal arrivals
August 19, 2025
Is it any wonder there are so many protests?
Especially when people working hard for long hours and paying all their taxes often have less disposable income than the migrants do. Plus often cannot even get appointments with NHS doctors, dentists, housing or the operations they need. Then we have the huge increases in crimes like phone snatching, muggings, sexual assault and shop lifting with almost zero response from our two tier police and justice system.
In 2017 we had hardly any migrants arriving by boats from France. Had the government under the dire Net Zero May taken some deterrent action then (by keeping them people in detention or processing offshore) the problem could have been nipped in the bud. Instead they chose to augment the issue together with all the legal and back door methods though “universities”, fake care workers and similar too.
We currently have only two real deterrents 1. stormy weather in the channel and 2. eventually the UK will become so crowded, crime ridden and dire they will eventually no longer wish to come. Some deterrent that prevents the latter coming about is surely needed. But clearly Two Tier, free gear and never hear Kier thinks augmenting the problem is a great plan! That and locking up Lucy Connolly as a political prisoner for 31 months so as to deter the others. The deterrent of protest rather than of migrants.
August 19, 2025
The three appeal court judges for Lucy Connolly’s sentence said “no arguable basis on which it could be said that the sentence imposed by the judge was manifestly excessive. The
appeal against sentence therefore fails and is refused”.
Surely there is no arguable basis for claiming it is not absurdly excessive especially a it was a first offence, she withdrew the tweet, had lost a baby herself recently and pleased guilty at an early stage. It was surely an evil political judgement and appeal process?
Then we have the six appeal court judges who twice denied Lucy Letby any appeal for her 15 convictions. All clearly unsafe to say the least. Did they really think all 15 were safe convictions “beyond reasonable doubt”. Who killed the several babies who died when she was not on duty?
August 19, 2025
+1 LL. The lawyers closing ranks. Our justice system is broken. Also our policing system, our electoral system. These are fundamentals.
August 19, 2025
There is a conspiracy by many politicians, civil servants, regulators, much of the judiciary and the many feckless benefit claimants to extort ever more of other people’s wealth and earnings from the fewer and fewer hard working tax payers. But sooner or later this doom loop economics throttles all these golden geese and further tax rates rises raise less tax in the end.
August 19, 2025
This is a deliberate government sponsored invasion promulgated by the UN and WEF. It will never be stopped by the uniparty because the likes of treacherous May signed up to the UN charter.
As with the outpouring of St. George’s flags across the country, the people are mobilising and the politicians better watch out. Blatant racism from councils banning our flag but tolerating the ( other ed)flag(s)says it all.
August 19, 2025
It seems St George’s flags are, according to some council’s health and safety people, are more of a health and safely risk than other flags and must be removed! Health and safety being the new ruse to ban thing or excuse failures. That and “climate change” (it always has and will change) of course!

Yes, Mrs. May as a lot to answer for. In addition to signing us to the UN Migration Charter, she attempted to sabotage Brexit and signed Net Zero by 2050 into law without a proper debate, vote or costing. Plus sacked 10,000 experienced police force officers so they could be replaced later by 10,000 police service officers straight out of university.

@Original Richard @LL @Glen Cullen
The thing to remember Mrs May may have started it, but every person that followed her had the right to change the situation. More than 50% of what passes for the UK’s Legislators, the elected in the HoC & the unelected in the HoL all support the situation going forward.
As others have intimated out Political Class are frightened to say ‘Boo’, frightened to tell the unelected unaccountable WEF Socialist pack where to go., they are frightened to do their job, they take our money to ingratiate themselves on false pretences

I remain a little sceptical about this sudden outpouring of national pride. Taking into account past matters I cannot help but be suspicious that this is a government psyop designed to allow people to let off steam peacefully. The government knows it does not have the resources and is keen to avoid more bad PR.

The English are no good at riots. In Ballymena the asylum seekers are now gone.
Starmer uses heavy policing and arrests. This seems to be working. Numbers on the street make no difference. There were huge protests about Middle East wars but they also had no effect on government.
August 19, 2025
How much is passageway from Ballymena to London? How many can we fit in a boat?
August 19, 2025
It isn’t a failure to control our borders, it’s a refusal to do it. They are deliberately importing the criminal migrants. it’s all part of the long-term post WW2 scheme to create a One World Government.
A strong British “value” is fairness including queuing, waiting your turn and abiding by the law. What the Government is doing is patently unfair and I believe they are deliberately stoking resentment and unrest so that they can justify implementation of a society based on Surveillance and Control, with Digital ID, a Central Bank Digital Currency and Social Credit system so your privileges can be withdrawn if you don’t conform – just as they are in any prison if you “don’t behave.”
In addition to “free” luxury hotels or a house, “free” NHS healthcare and dentistry, “free” education, “free” money, mobiles, clothing, food, bikes and the freedom to come and go as they please, the list of “free” or bargain extras they are being given is growing by the day. Just check out Guido Fawkes and you will find information on all the “free” or reduced perks they are being given. Yesterday GB News reported the following:
“Illegal migrants are being given free cooking lessons, sewing machines, and orchestra training for their mental health. Part of the Home Office plans include building an illegal migrant “ensemble” of musicians to create a “new, multicultural sound for 21st Britain”. You can read the report here:

None of this is a Government failure. It is a deliberate Uni-Party policy.
August 19, 2025
A deliberate Uni-Party policy – it seems so. Just like the insanity of Net Zero.
A failure even to TRY to control our borders or to run a sensible economic policy, energy policy, tax policy, criminal justice policy, transport policy, education policy, housing policy, red tap removal of policy… but Kier is “smashing the gangs” he claims! The gangs all funded by the boat migrants he put in hotels at tax payers expense. How many smashed so far Sir Kier?
August 19, 2025
Has he considered smashing the gangs by cutting off their money supply? This by deterring migrants from paying for the trip by making the trips pointless for them. Just make where they are seem preferable to them?
August 19, 2025

Difficult to believe that you need to outline all you do in todays post John, it just shows how far our Government and Country has sunk, that you feel you have to outline, as many others have, all that is wrong with the present failed policy, as the problem grows larger and larger.
Yes many people are protesting and getting more and more angry, simply because the common-sense argument has and is failing.
The government just seems to be drifting, and appears to be absolutely clueless as to what real and positive action is needed, to stop this crime of illegal entry into our Country.
August 19, 2025
Deterrents are needed for migrants and for crime in general in general. Sadly have to be cruel to be kind. Kier seem to think this only applies to Lucy Connolly types so as to deter anti-immigration protesters but not to deter crime and illegal migrants!
August 19, 2025
Good morning
You fail Sir John to mention the main reason they are protesting, and that is the danger to women and children these illegals represent.
It is the first duty of any government to protect His Majesties Realm and his people. Something no government seem to want to do, and any government that fails in that is no government of mine.
We all know this is deliberate. We all know that it is used to bring in laws to control us.
Off topic. I am hearing that TTK is to sign a military and security pact with the EU. Such a pact is designed to give the EU power over our armed forces, nuclear deterrent AND our security services. This on top of betrayal after betrayal. Never has a government been so hostile to its own interests and those of its people. It feels like we are an occupied country. Taken over without a shot being fired.
August 19, 2025
Sir TTK is a menace to the defence of (and the economy of) the UK – as is the moronic Ed and his Net Zero rip off intermittent energy lunacy!
August 19, 2025
Two-Tier will use the “Ukraine” excuse to justify a military and security pact with the EU. It will be necessary to stop Putin from invading more European countries, don’cha know. Those who support ongoing British involvement in “protecting” Ukraine are actually supporting the transfer of OUR defence and security to the likes of Chief Bureaucrat, elected by no-one, Von Der Leyen.

1,800,000 dead Ukrainian soldiers to date.

LA, the Voice of Russia has spoken. (NB: no reference whatsoever to justify the figures given above).
According to the Centre for Strategic and International Studies between 200 and 250k Russian soldiers have died between Feb’22 and May’25, plus 700k casualties (serious injuries). Russia had to call North Korea for some soldiers (10k ?) and arm support from China.
Most conscripts appear to come from northern and eastern regions of the Russian Federation or from prisons, leaving the more politically influential population centres of Moscow and St.Petersburg free from some of the war’s impacts.
deseret.com 14/08/2025 ‘The human cost of Russia’s war against Ukraine’.
Russia’s GDP is up by 5-8% according to estimations mainly linked to the war economy.
The same source gives 100k Ukrainian fatalities and an additional 300k casualties.
Russia seized 46k sqm of Ukraine in the first five weeks of the war, Ukraine retook roughly 20k. Since Jan’24 Russia has won over less than 2k sqm advancing less than 500 ft a day.
Ukraine’s GDP has fallen (by up to 27% ?) but the country is kept by external help ($175 bn by US with 70 used to buy arms, 54 to prop up U’s budget, $4 bn for humanitarian support). The EU27 provided $192 bn with 60 for military assistance.

The authorities seem to regard the public’s genuine concern over illegal migration as subversive. They deploy the police to film the protesters and subject them to experimental facial recognition software. They are being filed as troublemakers who need to be under surveillance – whilst the illegals freely walk the streets, spending their benefits while attempting to molest vulnerable underage white girls
Many folk perceive that the issue of the xx rape gangs and the way they were protected by the police, who victim blamed the girls and who are now being investigated themselves for being involved, as the root cause of this discontent. Sadly, the public no longer trust the police
Unfortunately, successive government’s inability to deport the convicted (Foreign? ed)paedophiles means they are still on the streets; this is yet another example of Home Office incompetence. Clearly, unless the authorities start to show they understand the public’s concern over this issue, the migrant hotel protests will continue and will probably get worse. We do not need thousands of ( foreign? ed)paedophiles in this country; they need to be deported.
Reply The rape gangs were not usually recently arrived illegal migrants. There are worries about crimes committed by recent migrants but rape gangs are often legally settled UK citizens.

Who all come from the same type of societies where the strong rule, life is cheap and woman and children are viewed as possessions, to be done/traded with as they wish. These places are medieval in their attitudes and intolerant in their beliefs. Bringing large numbers of people with this cultural background into our society is like trying to mix oil and water. There are many aspects of ‘modern’ Britain that I frankly dislike (tattoos, drugs, bad language etc) so can only speculate what someone coming from a far more ‘conservative’ place would make of it all…

We need to recind British citizenship altogether. It’s a new thing anyway.
English, Irish, Welsh and Scottish citizenship to be introduced – more than 70% of any combination (?) with residential rights in the U.K.
August 20, 2025
Who are ‘we’? We ‘need’, exactly why?
British citizenship has been officially existing for more than a century, since 1914 through the British Nationality and Status of Aliens Act 1914 updated by the British Nationality Act 1948.
Do you really think going back to separate English, Irish, Welsh and Scottish citizenship would not be a move backward. Wouldn’t that be an encouragement to further divisions?
You would have to list proper arguments to justify such a ‘need’.
August 19, 2025
All fair points, the racism or xenophobia slur is unwarranted and purely a tactic of the pro migration lobby. We see through it and are “not for turning”.
The more interesting questions to examine are why the powerful people allowing or supporting illegal immigration do it. Why don’t Kemi, or Starmer immediately leave the ECHR, as a first step? Why didn’t any previous Tory leader do it? Why would the WEF’s billionaire supporters want us “de-nationalised”? Who’s taking such billionaires’ money? Who profits from migration (I don’t mean traffickers or immigrants)? I don’t think there’s a conspiracy, more an alignment of interests that are not those of the ordinary citizen.
I think if we get increasing clarity on these issues, then we can stop the invasion (and improve our governance). I support the protests but unless they become a mass movement, nothing substantial will change.
Your piece today scratches the surface (and good for you doing it); but when experienced, respected public figures such as yourself start delving into the deeper “why”, then there’s more chance that we can change course.
August 19, 2025
Who profits from migration? Housing and hotel providers, lawyers, many charities, many in the state sector, many jobs created for workers in the prison service, social services, police… all paid for by tax payer many with lower disposable incomes than the migrants have!
August 19, 2025
Low paid (and often illegal working and not tax paying) migrants also can put legal businesses out of business and also cuts the pay of legal workers. This lowering the tax take too and enlarges the black economy as this often the only way to compete – doom loop economics yet again,
August 19, 2025
Exactly, LL. Always the right question to ask.

Certainly it was with Big Pharma and the net harm Covid Vaccines (see the truly appalling statistics in countries where the breakdown is being released). It seems the vaccine regulators were largely funded by big Pharma too. What could (or did ) possible go wrong with that arrangement?
August 19, 2025
Wanderer: “The more interesting questions to examine are why the powerful people allowing or supporting illegal immigration do it.”
Yes. this is the question that needs to be asked and answered.
August 19, 2025
The government’s willingness to lavish endless amounts f hard pressed tax payers money on unwanted and unwelcome invaders from unknown places is what must stop.
The pull factor plus the desire in France to rid itself of their unwanted strangers is what is causing this human crisis. France actively encourages the unwanted to assemble in camps on Northern Beaches unpoliced, because they want them to board unsafe rubber boats and go to England.
The additional folly is we pay France £500million/year to help them coordinate the trafficking of migrant to England.
Starmer thinks that is a good arrangement?
August 19, 2025
I very much agree Sir John. It is not racist to uphold the law. The law is in place to provide the rules we can all live by and it keeps us safe. The alternative is anarchy and that’s what we are seeing in the Channel. Entering this country illegally is an offence. They all should have applied for visas but they chose the illegal route instead with all the chaos and cost that brings.
I am actually embarrassed I live in an age when the UK government is more concerned about short-term racist name-calling from journalist pygmies than protecting its own people. My solution is State of Emergency right now and use the Ascension Island with army infrastructure for the illegal migrants and then deport them home after assessment. Let’s restore law and order and keep everyone safe.
August 19, 2025
@Paul Freedman
What an outstanding post, full of common sense. Clearly, a State of Emergency needs to be declared. Excessive inward migration is overwhelming the country’s ability to absorb them or provide, housing, health care etc. I hope that the politicians read it
August 19, 2025
Thank you very much Sakara
August 19, 2025
Spot on Paul
….and if not the Ascension Island due to cost, lets send them to the Hebrides army camp
August 19, 2025
Let’s send them to France, it’s big enough and international law says they have to take them.
August 19, 2025
Even better
August 20, 2025
International law, I guess you mean the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS), and/or the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, and/or the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue.
Art.17 and 18 of UNCLOS make a difference between seaworthy vessels and those that are not.
Priti Panel had tried to weasel out her way along those articles but did not succeed, as un-seaworthy vessels like dinghies have to be brought to a safe harbour.
With Brexit, the UK has taken itself of the three successive regulations on immigration that made/make the Dublin agreement.
Furthermore as long as the French authorities do not accept a return, ‘international laws’ are not of much help as their priorities are the safeguard of people in danger and as the definition of danger is left to the ‘master of the ship’ doing the rescue they are very likely to follow Art98(1) of UNCLOS.
Reply The French should therefore accompany them safely back to France when they set out, to minimise the distance they travel in an overloaded boat.
August 19, 2025
“It is against the law to seek illegal entry”
Yea but is it illegal entry when we have the RNLI & Border Force picking them up as holiday makers, what’s your bet these parasites sorry I mean human rights lawyers use the journey half way across the channel as not being illegal because of the excellent taxi service we supply , and while we have a toothless government in power nothing is going to change
August 19, 2025
It’s not illegal to claim asylum, as the dinghy people invariably do, and you can only claim asylum once you reach the UK. As they are “rescued” by Border Force, they are being brought to shore legally, unlike those who hide in lorries to evade detection.
What the UK needs to do is raise the bar on which asylum claims are permitted. Migrants should be immediately confined in secure accommodation, treated humanely and be asked where they can be returned. They can then be held there just so long as it takes to organise transport.
Any asylum claim has to be accompanied by a sponsor, who must lodge a considerable sum with the authorities to cover costs of the asylum application, possible costs if the migrant requires medical treatment and compensation for any victims of crime the asylum seeker commits. The sponsor must show they are able to provide food, clothing and lodging so as not to tax the public purse. The sponsor must continue their support for the rest of the asylum seeker’s life, even if granted asylum.
The government can also grant asylum to individuals it feels it is in the national interest to do so.
August 19, 2025
Actually the US Asylum laws state you have to claim asylum BEFORE arriving in the USA.
I know because of the Afrikaans farmers in South Africa.
Anyone who arrives here without having been granted asylum should be stopped in the sea or before passing passport control at airports etc.
August 20, 2025
Asylum can only be granted once people are in the UK (gov.uk ‘Claim asylum in the UK’ One of the first sentences is ‘You should apply when you arrive in the UK or as soon as you think it would be unsafe for you to return to your own country’.)
It is different for all other sorts of work, student or family visas where people have to fill a visa request online (gov.uk ‘How to apply for a visa to come to the UK’.)
Reply There are legal routes of entry. The government can change the rules if they now think as you seem to do that the rules make us accept many people coming by illegal means. The rules allow the government to detain and examine people arriving illegally about whether they have committed crimes or assisted criminal gangs as part of their journey. The rules do not require us to provide free hotels. Are you happy with the way France, a safe country, treats them ?
August 20, 2025
I agree that the rules do not require the UK to provide free hotels and the rest. This has been the result of decisions from successive governments.
It is (unfortunately?) a fact that the UK provides much more to illegals migrants than France does. France appears to manage with more or less success the migrants willing to stay there (142k refugees accepted in 2023, last stat I found). See fabexpat.com 21/01/2025 ‘Immigration laws in France and the new 2025 Immigration Reform.)
But a non negligible minority of those migrants who moved through Europe (arriving from Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey) now in France is not interested in staying there convinced that they will get better prospects in the UK if only because they already speak a bit of English and/or have some relatives/networks in the UK.
It is those migrants who now for years have been trying to come to the UK. Some years ago they were taking the lorries clandestinely and mainly disappeared as soon as they were in the UK. With enforced controls at Eurotunnel in Coquelles they now take the small boats and if successful claim asylum as soon as on UK soil.
It is also unfortunate that people in this scept’red isle do not seem to be aware that extreme weather events all around the MENA might encourage more not less migrations.
August 19, 2025
Starmer and co are intensely relaxed about what they are allowing to happen. They know full well that they have the police well onside. Watch the police issue restriction orders around every migrant hotel – preventing effective protest and at the same time further encouraging migrant criminal activity and more and more illegal arrivals.
August 19, 2025
Catching up on my Sunday paper yesterday. In it, a small story about how Portsmouth – a LD-controlled city – had been blindsided, as central-government was stuffing it with refugees. Penny Mordaunt – th former MP – is upset. Suella Braverman – Home Secretary at the time and now the people’s champion, fresh from her Battle of the Waterlooville Migrant Hotel – is ………………. unavailable for comment. No wonder people no longer trust anything most MPs say, and why the idea of a malevolent Uniparty has taken hold.
No refugees should be given any assistance with housing. Illegal immigrants should go straight to a Nissen hut, pending removal.
August 19, 2025
Quite simply, once a criminal, always a criminal.
If illegal immigrants are prepared to break laws for their own advantage to get here then they are more likely to break laws to their own advantage when they get here.
Can’t get a girlfriend – I’ll just take one
Can’t get food – I’ll just take some
Can’t earn a living while paying tax – I won’t pay tax
August 19, 2025
Over and above the lawbreaking cited by Sir JR that is directly linked to the illegal entry to the UK and its short term goal, we see many instances of further lawbreaking by the recently arrived illegals – theft and offences against the person, to put it neutrally – that illustrate not only lack of gratitude towards the illegals’ new host nation, but also sheer inability to behave. When we look at how many genuine refugees and asylum seekers in the distant past have been grateful and have behaved properly, is it any wonder that the protesters whom TTK lazily describes as “far right” are affronted and have good reason to feel affronted?
August 19, 2025
The law needs to be changed so that these economic immigrants and illegal arrivals will not be considered for asylum and are housed in tented prison compounds with basic provisions until such time as they can be deported. They must not leave the compound
August 19, 2025
That or even worse treatment is alas is the only thing that is likely to really deter ever more arrivals. Cruel to be kind is surely the only way or it will soon be 1million PA then 2M then 4M plus 5x that in dependents to follow.
August 19, 2025
Leave the UN Refugee convention until it is rewritten for modern times would be a good start
August 19, 2025
Wherever you go and whatever you do in the UK you are constantly asked for evidence of who you are so that the benefits that are, as you rightly say, generously given by the UK system are given to the right people who are entitled to that benefit.
If you want to buy a property in the UK you must go through rigorous Anti Money Laundering checks and show evidence of where the money is and where it came from.
Everyone who is entitled to have what the UK gives are invariably asked at some stage to show some of the following;
Date of birth, home address, household bills for the last 3 months, bank accounts,National insurance number, driving licence,NHS number, passport and in some cases are required to give references.
How is it that illegal immigrants can get access to our systems without genuine documents unless they are either forged or the checks we carry out on those immigrants and their documents are not fit for purpose or they’re not carried out at all.!
If a UK resident was trying to get access to another country or their benefits system illegally they would either be fined, returned to the UK or jailed so it is no wonder that people are trying to access the UK illegally and, as you say, this all creates massive resentment because those genuinely entitled to UK benefits have paid their taxes here for many years and are now being ‘queue jumped’ by people who have never paid into these systems, aren’t UK residents, or are here illegally.
August 19, 2025
How can the words ‘migrants’ & ‘asylum’ be used for criminals forcing their way in, they are stealing places from those with genuine need that we have no problem with
August 19, 2025
As well as the points raised in this post, I think we should look at the root of all of this.
Obviously, our membership of the ECHR is causing most of the pain.
However, how did we end up in a situation where a proud democracy such as ours ended up being subjugated by a foreign power and then took in so many immigrants?
My theory is that, in the 1950/1960’s’s we were not as guarded as the U.S. was about communist infiltration and these “borderless world” or “global citizen” ideas were seeded way back then, when some of our powerful institutions (universities, civil service, BBC) were infiltrated.
I would welcome an article or comment by Sir John on this matter.
Does he have any idea how we ended up with all of this immigration despite the fact that the population never wanted or asked for it?
August 19, 2025
Look up the House of Commons briefing on migration into andout of this country. You’ll see that emigration has been increasing since the 1980s, and 80-100,000 British people now emigrate each year. It primarily concerns younger age groups, especially 20 to 35-year-olds. There are now over 5 million Brits living abroad. Some of them are retired, but the rest are not available to do jobs in this country. The conventional story is that international immigration is required to fill the gaps, and do the jobs that Brits won’t do. OK as far as that goes, but I would’ve thought a much lower level of international migration would be required for that purpose.
August 19, 2025
I always thought the “British won’t do the work” argument was nuts.
I know that one race is different from another, but the idea that the British had a unique aversion to work did sound silly.
August 19, 2025
Aside from leaving the ECHR, the refugee Convention and any other international agreements that restrict our actions, surely it is obvious the the “pull factors” such as board & lodging, free mobile phones, legal aid, medical care, and freedom of movement should be replaced with basic detention camps behind barbed wire. The British people, especially those already struggling, have had enough. We are not the world’s health service or social care organisation.
August 19, 2025
@Michael Staples – being a member of the ECHR says a lot about our Parliament, its MP’s. It says the don’t have the competency to be the UK’s Legislators, they don’t have the ability to make Laws for the UK. then we the voter should ask why they are there at all, if they cant cope with the basics of the job.
There is nothing contained in the ECHR that our legislators shouldn’t be able to pass into Law, then have the ability to amend or repeal the Law as it finds to be applicable to the UK. Then it says a lot about how our Parliament also thinks a lot about our Courts, they have given people outside of the UK’s democratic jurisdiction to pass judgement on what suits us best in our own Country.
What theses people in our Legislator are saying, is the are not up to the job, logic says they should leave, we should abandon the idea of having a democracy and a Parliament.
Almost 80% of the World get to govern themselves, they other 20% live in isolation and delusion

Thank you for this excellent article
The Govt is having only minimal success in targeting the smugglers
However they would be more successful in targeting those who seek out smugglers and pay large amounts of money to provide their services
They are as you point out knowingly breaking the law and should be treated as law breakers
This would be much more successful in stopping smugglers
When Denmark decided to confiscate jewellery and cash as a contribution towards costs of accommodation for illegal Migrants the numbers arriving dramatically fell

Allowing the criminal activity to continue is a Parliament, a Government, condoning law breaking the very thing we thought we were empowering and paying them to uphold.
It makes Parliament, its MP’s, its Government the facilitators of all criminal activity against the Nation and its People.
Get away with criminal activity once encourages further criminal activity and Society degenerates further, that is the opposite of what we empower and pay those in Parliament to up hold.
Protests against criminal facilitation, by Parliament, its MPs, its Government is the only way left to remind this ‘den’ of sound-bite seeking entities that they are making themselves irrelevant

Add to that the tough line the police take with any protesters against the housing of the migrants, compared with the total lack of action taken against the migrants themselves who, as you say, are breaking not just one law, but a whole string of them.

Spot on with your comments

Not only do these migrants come here illegally they arrive undocumented so we have no idea of their identity, their background, family ties and criminal record. They don’t ‘often’ break our laws they always break our laws indeed they openly flout our laws laughing in the face of authorities who provide them with a sea taxi service. They choose the channel crossing, they disregard weather and sea state conditions, flout safety at sea regulations and pay substantial amounts of cash to smugglers. Most are young men under the age of thirty. It is unsurprising local people in our towns and villages have had enough of this uncontrolled invasion; protests are increasing along with anger as it’s crystal clear Starmer’s policies have failed. This issue will only get worse as the numbers arriving illegally continue to increase, so the protests will increase and so will civil unrest. Surely this is now a National Emergency?

I can’t really add anything to the many good comments this excellent article from Sir John has generated.
Why are the Government and MPs not feeling the increasing anger of the voters? It seems this government and the previous ones since 2019 are against the people and the UK!
Some people grow with the responsibility of office; some people shrink.
It seems the PM and every Cabinet Minister has shrunk in office and continue to do so.

@Keith from Leeds – is it they(Government) that are above listening, or is it these outbursts demonstrate to them as disciples of the Socialist WEF that the plan is working. They have been taught to engage in the ‘Great Reset’ and or that to happen you first have to destroy Society. On that basis alone things are going to plan.
That should be just a conspiracy, other than Government and you have to include the whole of Parliament in the project as there are no objectors, just more disciples, prove daily, they have taken the fight to the People and wish to destroy so as to build in their own personal image. They couldn’t simply work with the Nation to achieve a better tomorrow for all as that would be to recognise difference, recognise individual achievement, recognise those that are comfortable in providing and taking responsibility for their own actions and contribute to the whole. That is heresy to Socialism and Socialists as they only want those in their own personal image

They believe they have to hang on for no much longer before the immigrants themselves will ‘police’ the majority and the political crisis will be over.
Why the white British, and especially the women in Parliament think they will survive is a wonder, and a measure of their true idiocy.

Governments love an easy solution
1 QE that contributed to inflation
2 An endless supply of cheap labour
They believe it drives the economy & increases GDP
This is why governments are quite happy to ignore the immigration problem
August 19, 2025
More massive inflation planned. The stock market up, long term interest rates high (set by the market) short term interest rates law – set by the BOE.
Brace.

Obviously we need stricter asylum rules because what we have isn’t fit for purpose in today’s world, unless the purpose is to flood the country with culturally incompatible foreigners. We can only achieve that by electing a radical government (I see no chance of a revolution here, and don’t really want one as they are messy, often bloody affairs, with uncertain outcomes). Reform currently is the only option to stop illegal migration, despite having some cranky ideas in other policy areas.

The people are protesting against a state which welcomes, allows, encourages illegal criminals to cross our borders that fast tracks them into hotels; supplys them with free food, money,sim-cards and other benefits
They’re protesting that non will be sent back home and that most work in the black/criminal market and our police do nothing
They’re protesting that when criminals are fast tracked to refugee status they can claim ECHRs to bring their families over
They’re protesting that these criminals can use our own legal system and the ECHRs to stay
They’re not protesting against immigrants they’re protesting against our government policies, the hotels are just the symbol

What do our politicians, civil servants and judiciary find so appealing about the cultures, creeds and practices of young men from Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Albania, Syria, Sudan and Eritrea that they feel the need to encourage their illegal Channel crossings by rewarding them with 4 star hotel accommodation, free clothing, free dentistry, £49/week pocket money, free entertainment and training and the freedom to roam our streets unhindered either taking unregulated jobs or simply absconding into thin air?

They get a tick in the box from the UN and a big congratulations from the EU for complying with their secret instructions

They are judged by the standards of their countries and nations. So they are allowed to rape and steal because that’s natural to them.
We are judged by higher standards because we are honoured to have been born into higher standards.
This was explained to Melanie Phillips by the Guardian when she worked there.
It’s also decreed by the Koran, which the King so admires.
Perhaps the Royal family should be judged by even higher standards than common British people. I’m sure they will not be found wanting!

Think population replacement……

Many people wish to come to live in the UK and apply the legal way, maybe having visas granted or maybe refused. Accommodating those who arrive via people smugglers is effectively a kick in the teeth to those who try to keep to the rules. And if the rules are to be ignored then the future looks bleak for all of us.

It depends upon where migrants illegal and legal come from.We are now outnumbered in professions and key points in our society to exact change and defend what we thought was our country. Its everyone to their own, despite territory.

We bear no ill to people of different race, creed or colour in their own countries, where they are free to practise their own way of life. It is an inconvenient fact however that if you keep importing those of different creeds there comes a point at which it becomes their country. We are already seeing two-tier justice and attempts to bring in blasphemy laws as our politicians seek to appease the newcomers. As their numbers grow so will the demand for the broadcast call to prayer and eventually sharia areas like the fundamentalist areas of Jerusalem where everybody is expected to conform to the preferences of the local majority.

I think that most of us would agree that the U.K. is in a pretty dire state, financially, morally ,and in terms of infrastructure. Those who travel overseas can make constructive judgements.
Equally I do not think the ingredients that make us British have changed that much, we are in my judgement the same people with the same values we had when I left school in 1955.
The outstanding failure has been political, among those we entrust the governance of the U.K., both elected and unelected. They have been led by theory that is totally alien to what the people recognise as being British.
When asked who the British are, I see them as the conglomerate of mixed tribes of centuries who have inhabited these islands from Roman times, up to and including the majority of Commonwealth citizens who have settled here. Some I might add who are more British than the originals. We are all bound by what we sense is right and what is not, we are familiar with the same law, we speak the same language, some better than the originals, and on a lighter side, cricket binds us and divides us.
The great political mistake was to tie us into what became the EU. Done with good intentions after WW2, but subjecting us to alien undemocratic rule, while at the same time destroying our own evolved with consent, mature democracy. It made us rule takers and reduced the quality of our rule makers to the abysmal quality of those we see in Parliament today.
Our totally misguided response to immigration has now damaged our response to genuine asylum seekers, who in the past we have treated with generosity of spirit. Government policy in this area is so bad that I am inaclined to think it can only be a deliberate attempt to destroy our sense of Britishness and culture.
Do I despair, no, my contact with my fellow Brits of whatever colour confirms to me that the sense of what it means to be British is still alive, if not somewhat battered. You might have to travel far from London and the big cities to experience it, but it remains the bedrock of who we are. To rejuvenate it, enable it to flourish, we desperately need a British style revolution in the way we govern ourselves. We need high quality management in Parliament and our institutions, with closer contact and understanding of the aspirations of the people. People need incentivising and leading to thinking that all they believe to be British is in fact possible and true. Space to seek to strive to conquer, not in a selfish sense, but in a self fulfilling sense. Then the country will buzz once more.

For the first time in my life ,my family and myself are discussing homes abroad. The dangers from floods and wild fires ,the strict regulations some countries exercise for entry (have a job in place or profession) the local cultural mix,the health provision, the dominant religion ,the politics, the curbing of population explosion, the cleanliness etc are all things to consider.
