The President of the EU Commission has just set out four main conclusions about Ukraine.
She says “Borders cannot be changed by force”. It’s a great principle which many of us would like to be observed by all. Instead Putin has just changed the borders de facto by force. The original borders can only be restored by applying much more force to countering and evicting the Russian army. As the EU has no wish to join the fight, fails to provide enough money and weapons to Ukraine to ensure ejection of the Russian army, and helps finance Russia by buying Russian oil and gas it is difficult to see what she means by this first statement. France in particular has been unwilling to provide much by way of weapons and cash to help Ukraine evict the invader.
She says she wishes to establish that “the centrality of the EU in securing peace for Ukraine must be fully protected”. The EU only has a role in the peace talks if both Russia and Ukraine wish them to do so, and if they have some leverage over the two combatants. The EU also needs to be conscious of the US involvement, given the large amount of money and weapons the US has been supplying and the US efforts to talk to both sides. She says Ukraine must join the EU single market and the “EU defence industrial base”. How would that work? Would the EU then give a security guarantee to the Ukraine for its borders, backed up by EU military forces? Would the EU fund for rearmament give weapons to Ukraine? There has been no sign of that from the EU so far.
She says the Ukrainian children sent to Russia have to be returned. That is another great idea, but what will the EU do to bring that about? How can they now persuade Russia to do this, after months of diplomacy with no results?
The EU makes clear they want Ukraine to become an integrated part of their Union in due course. Meanwhile they are unwilling to pay what it costs to win the war, and grandstand without committing any force to the conflict to try to enforce the rules they wish Russia to observe. The UK should tell the EU that if they want a better outcome and want Ukraine to join their Union they need to offer much more assistance to Ukrainian forces.

The EU ‘s plan for Ukraine is the fulfilment of its blackmail of Zelensky 3 days after Russia invaded. Germany and the EU had refused to supply anything useful – apart from other peoples’ money – only blankets and helmets. Three days after Russia invaded and was heading towards Kyiv, it blackmailed Zelensky: German weapons in exchange for EU sovereignty over Ukraine. the EU itself announced this Faustian deal as a watershed moment in its history. Certainly it had not previously stooped to blackmail, only bribery with other people’s money and false promises of freedom and democracy. This time it wanted more than its usual imperial expansion. It wanted control of Ukraine’s vast reserves of critical minerals of which lithium and rare earths alone were valued at up to US$13 trillion for Energiewende and EU Green Energy.
Von Der Leyen has been adamant over the past year that post-war reconstruction of Ukraine will be directed towards EU Green Energy. It is to be highly profitable for mainly German industry, funded by international aid – with UK expected to be a significant contributor of money for nothing in return.
Sir John is also quite correct that as Scholze made crystal clear after Germany led the EU’s blackmail of Zelensky, that the war in Ukraine is the cover for German re-armament and to take the lead in European defence, aiming to have the most powerful forces in Europe by 2030 to complete its dominance of Europe, already the dominant economic power. Germany’s defence budget has already surpassed that of the UK – in 2024.
The EU is now once again challenging US dominance of NATO, undermining the alliance, continuing its efforts over the last few decades. The EU’s ambition is to replace the USA as the world’s hegemonic power. It is an absurdly unreralistic aim but that won’t stop it trying to make its intended Federal State of Europe, the most powerful country in the world by undermining its competitors..
November 24, 2025
Good morning.
Already I am reading from elsewhere that Ukrainian businessmen are demanding that Ukraine import many men in order to full fill the loss in manpower due to the war.
Who says there is no money in blood.
November 24, 2025
Excellent ‘Safe’ country for all our illegal immigrants?
November 24, 2025
We should say to Zelensky that we can fly in to Ukraine 10,000 single men or families per month free for the next year.
We can also continue to support the military and provide a sum for the single men eg £2k each and for families £5k to ease their dependancy on arrival.
WIN – WIN.
November 25, 2025
Nice idea
November 24, 2025
Will a Labour government now involve us in another foreign war?
November 24, 2025
They will do anything to cancel the next general election.
November 24, 2025
They have no money, next to armed forces and no weapons.
How can they? They can’t even keep the peace in Birmingham.
November 24, 2025
The EU and Cameron were part of the reason Putin attacked. I hate the little dwarf but I remember Caneron and the EU foreign minister helping to depose the elected Ukraine president because he was pro Russia.
The EU ha put trade before security and is hopelessly unprepared in defending itself. After the collapse of the Soviet Union military spending was axed.
I don’t think Putin has the means to attack the EU or NATO but is capable of creating mahem with cyber warfare which we are unprepared for. Many lessons have been learned from the new type of warfare in Ukraine and let’s hope our leaders have been taking notice
November 24, 2025
The tactics used by China and Russia over the last decade ought to have woken the UK governments and military up big time.
November 24, 2025
Oh I’m sure they are ahead of the curve. Don’t you think so too?
November 24, 2025
It is worth noting the EUs role in creating the Ukraine conflict in the first place. It was the unbridled effort the EU put in to promote Ukraine’s membership of the EU and with it NATO that initiated the schism back in 2014. The EU’s then High Commissioner for Foreign affairs one Baroness Kathy Ashton effectively financed the uprising which unseated the elected Russian supportive President Viktor Yanucovytch in a coup in 2014. The Donbas region was strongly tied to Russia with the Crimean Naval Base headquarters of the Russian warm waters forces.
The coup prompted Putin to annex Crimea and those Ukrainians loyal to Yanukovych began demands for independence of their region from the newly established pro EU government in Kiev.
The EU went further and formally agreed Russian annexation of Crimea which remained a stable situation until the 2022 invasion. Merkel was at the head of the agreement no doubt driven by the huge relationship between Germany and Russia thanks to oil and gas supplies necessary to maintain German industry.
How things have changed since her demise.
The less said about Baroness Ashton the better.
November 24, 2025
I had forgotten about the truly dire Baroness Ashton.
In attempt to be fair to Clare Coutinho (as JR thinks I am not) I listened to her recent BBC Political Thinking podcast. She does however still wrongly think CO2 is “dirty” and points out rightly that exporting industries and jobs generally increases CO2. She still cannot however bring herself to point out that a bit more CO2 (plant, tree and crop food) and even slightly warmer is on average net beneficial. But she has moved quite some distance from her very clear I am a deluded Net Zero Zealot position of just a couple of years back when anppointed Energy Sec. by under the dire abandon ship six month early Sunak.
Coutinho is however right on the evil back door Islamic blasphemy law attempts and Jacob Rees-Mogg (who also still seems to accept that CO2 is a climate emergency despite what sensible scientist say) is exactly right in his “The Covid Enquiry is a complete waste of time and money” video. Though he does not point out that the Covid Vaccines were not only not a success – they did vast net harms (as did the mad lockdowns).
Reply JRM does not talk about a climate emergency. You fail to point out both JRM and CC support a cheap energy policy based on exploiting UK energy. Do try and catch up.
November 24, 2025
Cheep on demand energy is certainly what we need for the economy, for defence and for living standards. They have moved hugely in two years but not sufficient yet.
But why were they so deluded just a couple of years back. Especially the Maths Oxon. Coutinho.
“For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled.”

Thats politics for you !
November 24, 2025
It is the EU’s mess to clear up, not ours or the USA’s. Feel very sad for the Ukraine citizens caught up in it. They need to become a neutral unaligned independent state.
November 24, 2025
Yes. And ‘capping’ the Ukrainian Army at 800,000 means it will be bigger than it was when the war started.
Like capping EU expansion to 190 countries.
November 24, 2025
Afraid the EU leaders live in their own fantasy World, yes it comprises a big block of Countries, but with failing policies, they still rely on Nato for security, they still rely upon tariffs for trade protection, and on Germany for financial stability, other parts of the World are now moving forwards faster.
Unfortunately our present Government seems to want to tie us ever closer to a failing group of Countries.
November 24, 2025
The EU has ‘changed’ more borders than any entity since Alexander! Sometimes ‘by physical force’ , see Yugoslavia.
Putin at the time asked it ‘this is the new law?’
November 24, 2025
Great Britain shouldn’t have got involved. It solely down to Ukraine and the EU to sort.
November 24, 2025
@Stephen Reay – 100% agreed.
November 24, 2025
It’s not even up to the EU, although they had a hand in creating hostilities. It should be between Russia and Ukraine.
November 24, 2025
+1 in reality it’s a war between NATO and the Russian Federation.
Let’s have the courage to speak the truth.
November 24, 2025
The EU should have no part in prolonging the fighting in Ukraine. It has always been notorious for corruption.
Zelensky has amassed a fortune in overseas properties as a result of the war and his pal Mindich -of gold toilet fame- has now fled to Israel.
November 24, 2025
So Cameron has come out in favour of a prostate screening programme. It is surprising we do not have one already as slightly more men die of this than women (and a few men too) do from Breast Cancer. Breast cancer mammography screening in the UK is every 3 years and this should probably be annual as it is the US it could be done very cheaply if managed well. True that the current PSA test can give many false positives and then needs followup scans but surely better than nothing. Circa 33 people a day in the UK die from prostrate cancer about 31 from Breast Cancer.
November 24, 2025
Also cancer rates overall are rising especially since the Covid vaccine roll out dates. Probably related but perhaps just coincidental? Easy to tell but they are fighting not to release the stats, broken down by vaccine status in the UK for some unstated reason.
November 24, 2025
reuters.com 15/11/2024 ‘Fact check: Rising cancer rates in Britain unrelated to Covid-19 vaccines, not declared health crisis’.
blood cancer.org.uk 15/05/2024 ‘What’s the latest evidence regarding Covid-19 vaccines and blood cancer?’
factcheck.org 03/05/2024 ‘Still no evidence Covid-19 vaccination increases cancer risk despite posts’.
ecancer.org 26/07/2023 ‘84% cut in Covid deaths for UK cancer patients following vaccine rollout’.
bmjoncology.bmj.com 31/01/2023 ‘COVID-19 and cancer in the UK: which will prove to be the lesser of two evils?’
news.cancerresearchuk.org 18/07/2022 ‘COVID-19 vaccine and cancer – latest updates’.
In the absence of any reference from LL regarding his claimed rise of cancer cases clearly linked to the Covid-19 vaccines I have to conclude that there is little to see apart some websites profiting from a few anxious (gullible?) people.
November 24, 2025
So why the increase in many illnesses thar dates rather well with the vaccines roll out and why do they not release the mortality and illness data by vaccines status which would be so easily to do. Surely the only reason is that they already know the data is rather damning.
As to all the above “me think they protest rather too much” they are clearly v. worried and big Pharma have a load of money to spend on misinformation. So dear NHS and ONS please just release the data. For example of deaths, people with heart attacks, new arrhythmias, new breast cancers, bowel cancers, prostate cancers, stokes, live/still births… what was the date of the new conditions, the patient age when detected and the vaccines status and types and all the dates. Then we can easily find out the truth. They refuse to do this and so we have to reach our own conclusions based on the honest countries that release more date! Plus why else might they refuse?
November 24, 2025
I have no interest in Cameron’s health.
November 24, 2025
The UK in recent times has been concentrating on ‘soft-power’ to maintain defence, a policy followed by many EU counties as its cheap ….the Russians see soft-power as ‘weak-power’
November 24, 2025
It’s No Power.
Thankfully when you have Ursula Van Der Leyen and Kaya Kallis at the helm.
November 24, 2025
Yes, Realpolitik Sir John. Power speaks to Power.
The EUs bluster also reveals one of the fundamental flaws in the whole European ‘political union’ theory. Sovereign states will always ultimately choose their own self interest when it comes to armed conflict. No European country is going to be dragged into a war by Brussels against their own interests. The EU has no remit in such matters but simply cannot resist meddling in them.

November 24, 2025
Yes Ukraine is riddled with corruption.
Yes past political meddling has contributed to what has happened.
Right now though a gangster regime in the Kremlin is waging war against a neighbour, whose front line if it collapses will allow an undisciplined army to sweep through Ukraine with rape and pillage.
For that reason I support Ukraine and its efforts to repel the invaders.
November 24, 2025
Correct – its comes down to basic right & wrong
November 24, 2025
Did she mantion anything about the alleged corruption and misappropriation of funds given to Ukraine?
November 24, 2025
But most of the old Warsaw-Pact countries are corrupt …and even some EU countries ….”psalm 24:4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart”
November 24, 2025
The blame for the Ukraine mess lies with the EU and its eastwards expansion plans with the French and the Germans having history when it comes to this ambition. We’ve been caught up in all of this through our membership of the EU with even our own PM, Cameron, “heir to Blair”, making a speech in Kazakhstan in 2013 declaring that the EU should extend further into the former USSR and reach from the Atlantic to the Urals. It was this eagerness for the EU to expand eastwards as well as to regain our sovereignty which caused me to vote for Brexit when I had the chance.
November 24, 2025
Why, POTUS appears to be pi….. “US involvement, given the large amount of money and weapons the US has been supplying” US Taxpayer money that is. All the while the EU is in return ‘funding’ the Putin war machine with EU money paying for Russian Oil & Gas. So in effect the EU is fighting a proxy fight with the USA.
Then some wonder why the US and POTUS seem to think ‘what the heck’ let them get on with it why should we pay.
November 24, 2025
Regret that SJ is putting this out as an anti EU thing – according to the Budapest Memorandum 1994 when Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons it was done so in exchange for a guarantee of security of borders with security of state and the signatory countries to this were the US the UK and Russia – the EU did not guarantee anything and am afraid now is left to pick up the pieces for a preferred new peaceful Europe in whatever way it can1 – aqlso nowhere in the Memorandum did it say that Ukraine had to be grateful to the US. Lets be clear If the Ukraine still had its nuclear arsenal then Russia would never have attacked – the ones that have left Uraine down are the US the UK and Russia itself.
November 24, 2025
Ukraine never had nuclear weapons. Russian nukes were sited in Ukraine when they were both in the USSR. When the USSR disintegrated, the nukes were returned to Russian territory.
This is standard practise. When Mandela was about to take over South Africa, its nukes were sent to Israel.
You don’t want nukes falling into the hands of weak and unsophisticated people.
November 24, 2025
Lynn.. Whatever you say is immaterial in the overall the Budapest Memorandum was signed by Clinton Yeltsen and John Major and it applied to other ex-Soviet Union countries as well so its parts should have been upheld at the time of the invasion of Crimea 2014 .. and just as UK and the US let down the Palestine people with the Balfour Declaration 1917 and the follow up League Of Nations Palestine Mandate agreed 1922 they also let down the Ukraine people by not abiding by the Budapest Memorandum 1994 – makes me wonder why countries bother signing these agreements
November 26, 2025
Also, the Russians had the codes.
November 24, 2025
No, James, it wasn’t a ‘guarantee’ by the US, Russia and Britain, it was merely an ‘assurance’. Look it up.
November 24, 2025
You say, Sir John, that the EU should “offer much more assistance” if they wish a better outcome for their support for Ukraine. How much more? The EU and its member states have already parted with €187.3 billion in total support for that hapless country (consilium.europa.eu). That figure exceeds the annual defence budgets of France, Germany and Holland combined. With what result? The Russian Army is now starting to move past the Donbass defence line and threatens to occupy a good deal more of Ukraine.
I think the truth is that the EU has been doing what the Americans wanted all along, to keep Russia bogged down in an expensive war in Ukraine, leaving the US free to pursue its interest elsewhere, especially in the Middle East and now in South America. Whether Ukraine won, or survived long-term, was always secondary to that policy objective. The blinkered Brussels politicians failed to realise that, and just thought that with Ukraine they could gain another country for their administrative empire.

On the topic of the EU, the prominent remain advocate with whole you’ve debated, Martin Wolf of the FT, highlights a US report by the US National Bureau of Economic Research:-
‘…delivers the verdict: its estimates “suggest that by 2025, Brexit had reduced UK GDP by 6 per cent to 8 per cent . . . We estimate that investment was reduced by between 12 per cent and 18 per cent, employment by 3 per cent to 4 per cent and productivity by 3 per cent to 4 per cent.” If this is even roughly correct, Brexit has been nothing short of an economic disaster.’ !
This seems a very outlandish claim but I think it needs to be answered.
Reply I have extensively answered the 4% off of GDP lie. Our GDP rose more than leading EU countries both from 2916 and from2020. Our trade took off. See facts4eu
November 24, 2025
Thanks for the response

BREXIT was never about economics, that was the only subject REMAINERS wanted to fight on. BREXIT was and is about independence. Not following EU rules and not paying evermore money for nothing in return.
November 24, 2025
Can you actually see either the EU or NATO acting as a unified force. Two faced springs to mind.
November 24, 2025
Indeed, but it’s not just the EU president that is utterly unreal.
This war would have been over months ago if Starmer hadn’t poked his nose in, and he’s still doing this, talking against the peace plan, to extend the war. Why is he doing this?
Ukraine has accepted that it will have to give up a lot of land – its so-called allies cannot because they appear to want a war with Russia – It would certainly distract attention away from the dire states of economies in the UK and Europe.
The losers in all of this are the Ukraine people, so I would suggest that Starmer stops pretending to be the great foreign diplomat he imagines he is and fix a few things at home, while the EU should take a look at what they are doing to its own people. Then we can have peace!
November 24, 2025
All the Europeans (and I include the UK), and the USA under Biden, have achieved by their interference is to prolong the agony of what is essentially a Russian civil war. If they were not prepared to fight they should have kept out of it.
November 24, 2025
It’s not a Russian civil war. Ukraine has always been the German Highway into Russia and it has been shamefully used and abused by the west as a proxy for our oh-so-clever we can shoot at you (Russia) but you can’t shoot at us War.
Of course Ukraine has an annual Bank Holiday to remember Stephan Bandeira. Look him up.
November 24, 2025
Stepan Bandera, a nationalo-fascist. But it is a bitty more tricky than what Lynn is feeding us. The ‘commemoration’ is supposed to happen on 1st January, Bandera’s birthday. It is obviously New Year’s Day and only the Ukrainia russophobic ultra-ethno-nationalists (whose number doesn’t make them a majority but sizeable all the same) celebrate 01/01 as Stepan Bandera’s birthday. So the day is a Bank Holiday but not SB’s bank holiday.
November 25, 2025
Good try, Hefner, but it was not just the ‘ultra-nationalists’: ‘The Ukrainian parliament last week declared Jan. 1 as a national day of commemoration for Stepan Bandera.’ (Jewish News 30-12-2018)

President Trump wants peace between Russia and Ukraine partly because war kills and destroys the lives of many others, but largely so that he can be regarded as a peace generator personally. Beyond that, he does treat the conflict as a distant matter for continental Europe to sort out or tolerate. Providing more US advanced arms to Ukraine would even the balance but is not done. The US proposed deal is heavily biased against Ukraine and beyond settlement.
Europe seems limp in its efforts or ability to assist Ukraine and is most interested in pursuing its own interests regardless.
Every country should place its own citizens’ interests first. However, if a fierce dog is attacking our neighbour one’s natural duty is to stop it. That is in our interest too.
President von der Leyen speaks as if she is hoping to coax Ivan Pavlov’s dog to jump back over the fence.
November 24, 2025
Peace negotiations must take place between the combatants.
Do you think Churchill would have spent years negotiating a peace agreement with Roosevelt? Would that have helped the Allies to defeat the Axis nations?
November 26, 2025
You’re right Lynn. Unless the combatants agree and cease fighting, peace is not achieved.
November 24, 2025
Ukraine is facing a huge uphill struggle. US aligns itself with Russia. Chine builds weapon factory in Belarus. EU is cowering in fear. This leaves only UK (and AUS/NZ/CAN …). UK alone cannot afford to supply a that much …..
November 24, 2025
Why would the Dominions and the U.K. go to war with Russia?
What harm have we suffered at the hands of Russia?
November 24, 2025
I think if anyone studies the history of the Ukraine- Russia conflict prior to and from 2014 cannot reasonably state that it should be continued. The EU actually being the cause in the first place motivating the overthrow of the democratically elected Government of Ukraine which had good relations with Russia and not all that keen to join the EU. The UK Political Class choose to ignore that the Current Ukraine government started fighting it’s own citizens in the East because they wanted a degree of autonomy from central government. They were largely ethnic Russians. Did the EU say stop this and push for a devolved Government within the Ukraine state ? NO.
So seeing ethnic Russians being killed and the EU turning a blind eye to the bloodshed, this gave Russia an excuse to invade if you prefer this spin rather than that of defending Russians.
Crimea and Eastern Ukraine would still be in Ukraine if the EU had not motivated the removal of a Democratically elected Government that had good relations with Russia.
They are mostly Russian in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine and there is no way that they will reunite with Ukraine and anyone promoting continued conflict is war mongering . So looks like Trump and the Prime Minster of Hungry are the only Politicians responding to the truth of the situation.
November 24, 2025
Fortunately the EU is now utterly irrelevant to whether there is war or peace in Ukraine. Let’s hope we can now stop shovelling yet more British taxpayers’ money down that black hole of corruption.
November 24, 2025
The UK rashly got involved in this mess that was not of our making in the first instance. It is the EU’s mess to sort out, not ours and not the USA’s come to that.
Partners can be so demanding and fickle so we need to stay clear of the EU and build our own independent defence force.
November 24, 2025
I am afraid the US has again failed fully to support Europe at the time of its greatest need – WW1 and WW11 – over the past 200 odd years – at least not until Europe had exhausted its own resources. There is no doubt that Germany was and Russia is the enemy and a military enemy at that. I am not sure that the US can be considered a reliable ally.
November 24, 2025
Why is there no doubt? Britain has changed sides of course, in the 20th century we were aligned with the Allied Powers against Nazism, now we all yourselves with the Axis powers.
November 24, 2025
and the US always wants payment for being a ‘friend’ in wartime.
November 24, 2025
Have you noticed that the EU, by force removed all the borders of the nations which comprise the EU? Not all ‘force’ is military. There is psychological force.
So what the EU says and what they do on every count you cite is diametrically opposite?
Why is that JR? What could possibly stop the EU from kicking Russia (and Britain, for we with Russia defeated the powers that are The EU) into touch? In every utterance, especially from Mertz who feels the German defeat in 1945 keenly, the venom is evident. Why don’t they not just go and stamp on the gas station posing as a country?
I am surprised that you objected to Russia stripping the battlefield of civilians and specially (ethnic Russian) children. That is what we did during the Boer War, it’s what every civilized nation-at-war does. The globalist west defined the battlefield over 14 years by the construction of defence fortifications, so everyone knew where the war was to be fought. Indeed the Ukrainian Armed forces managed to kill 14,000 ethnic Russians before Putin was ready to defend them.
Have you considered for a second that the EU has no leverage, that it has shot it’s bolt (supplied everything including technical information) and is afraid to openly join battle because it knows something that you are too frit to face? Namely that Russia is able and willing to fight all of us, and that it will not lose?
The EU is about to be toppled by its on people, the ethnic Europeans who recognize that they have been defeated by the old German politics under its new flag.
Reply I am critical of what the EU has and has not done over Ukraine!
November 24, 2025
They have done everything in their power to defeat Russia whose commodities dwarf those of Ukraine, the EU, a parasite, needs to feed.
November 24, 2025
What a preposterous woman this is. One can see why Frau Merkel sent her to the Commission to get her out of the way for the succession to the Chancellorship. It is difficult to get out of one’s mind her furnishing her troops with broomsticks while Defence Minister.
November 24, 2025
The USA, the EU and the UK all let Ukraine down by only giving them weapons to fight a defensive war. If Ukraine had been given the offensive weapons to hit Moscow, St Petersburg and other towns and villages, in the way that Russia has been hitting Ukrainian towns and villages, the war would have been over very quickly.
Until Putin and Russia feel some real pain, they will not surrender. Only the USA can provide the weapons to do that, and I am puzzled why President Trump does not understand that and provide them. Be sure that President XI of China is watching closely, and if Russia are allowed to win, or partially win in Ukraine, he will see that as a green light to attack Taiwan. As for the EU talking tough, they are a joke, as is our PM.
November 24, 2025
Russia will not be ‘allowed to win’. Nobody can stop it winning.
November 24, 2025
PS the whole world including the USA acknowledges that Taiwan is part of China. Why would we fight China for Taiwan?
How would you feel if Xi announced that he was prepared to fight the U.K. for the Isle of Wight?
REPLY Taiwan does not want to be taken over by China. The Isle of Wight wants to stay part of UK. There is a big difference
November 24, 2025
My friends in Taiwan would say you have its completely 180 wrong, Taiwan isn’t part of China, China is part of Taiwan and would welcome reunification once China becomes fully democratic
November 24, 2025
good luck with that idea.
November 24, 2025
Ah, so they think the Democratic EU and the USA with its counting machines and dead voters will save them.
This is a disagreement between China and Taiwan.
Not our problem!
November 25, 2025
So when China invades Taiwan and tells the European countries not to intervene otherwise they’d switch off all energy & transport products and stop supply of goods …its not our problem

November 24, 2025
PPS If The USA attacks Russia then Russia can attack the USA? Do you agree?
Providing the weapons and the manpower to deploy them (has to be, nobody else can do it) is to become a protagonist.
Putin is ignoring that fact to try to avoid a n existential world war.
Do you disagree? You want the non-nuclear hovering Russia missiles over the USA to obliterate NY and Washington?
November 24, 2025
If Russia attacks Ukraine, then Ukraine can attack Russia! Do you agree?
Send those long range missiles to the Kremlin.
No holds barred?
November 24, 2025
If Ukraine attacks the ethnic Russian minority within its borders then UN Charter DEMANDS that the genocide is STOPPED.
Do you agree or do you think we should be able to just decide to wipe out the Welsh and be allowed to do that? Of course the Welsh have no greater nation to which they belong. The ethnic Russians do have, thank God.
November 25, 2025
Agree
November 24, 2025
There’s so much negative sentiment here mixed with untruths that there is a great need for fact checking – its likely that this kind of anti EU commentry a lot of it so wide of the mark has brought this country down and together with the earlier Brexit lies which also went unchallenged did not help much either.

Everyone needs to fact check. Best to listen to the statements of the protagonists and their supporters. Everything is on record.
The USA has the true losses on both sides. The Institute for the Study of War, owned by the (Ukrainian) Nuland family publishes them. Taken by counting death notices, funerals etc.
Why do you think Ukraine is calling for more men? Because of the 700,000 standing army they started with they have lost 40,000 as claimed by Zelensky? Why the years of press-ganging?

Of course borders can be changed by force – in fact historically it is the main way borders get changed. The borders of Poland have been changed by force many times, and last time I looked South Vietnam had ceased to exist.
Are the EU going to charge Ukraine £6bn to join their defence pact, or was that a special price for UK only ?

EU is complicit in aiding and abetting yet another US overseas proxy war designed to weaken or destroy Russia. The US/EU coordinated coup in 2014 resulted in fighting in predominantly Russian speaking Eastern provinces with considerable loss of life. The duplicity of Minsk2 where Ukraine was trained and supplied with weapons instead of ensuring a peaceful settlement in Eastern Ukraine. Biden’s refusal to negotiate with Putin in late 2021 and ex PM Johnson’s 2022 intervention in Kiev persuading Zelensky to fight on with catastrophic consequences for Ukraine and its people. The cause of all this carnage? NATO expansion into Ukraine. This was a Russian red line in 2008 and remains the case today as it’s seen by them as an existential threat. The faux indignation from EU leadership is frankly outrageous. If European and UK leadership had robustly objected to US proposals for Ukraine to join NATO in 2008 and thereafter this dreadful conflict could and should have been avoided. Europe has been significantly weakened economically by the conflict and Russia and China have become closer allies both undesirable consequences of the Ukraine conflict.

As far as I can see there is little EU in those. BTW South Vietnam ceased to exist on 2 July … 1976.
