“Jobs are transferring from the high-carbon economy to the low- carbon economy, “.
Is this true? What does “transferring” mean here? I very much doubt all people in companies put out of business due to high energy costs are getting well paid jobs in the “low-carbon” economy (whatever that means – civil servants in air conditioned offices using energy-gobbling AI, perhaps?).

Maybe he could tell us where these low carbon jobs are in Port Talbot, Denby in Derbyshire and where the refineries are closed.
He spouts drivel which I don’t think even he believes.

Sleight of hand, When Silly Milly talks about creating green jobs it would seem that around 130,000 to 147,000 jobs in the waste collection and treatment sector i.e. binmen etc are now re-classified as new green jobs. He could give the late Tommy Cooper a run for his money.

Because the Climate Change Act and Legal Net Zero are about control and not carbon.

Is Lord Whitehead aware of what is going on?
He replies as if he is inadequately informed.

What s stupid answer from Lord Whithead, he clearly has no factual or real knowledge of what is actually happening, but is simply swallowing the Governments “spin”.

In the last 6 years the rate of unemployment has gone from approx 3.7% to 4.9%. That is not growth it is decline.
And what the heck does “inform” mean – “skills are transferred from the high-carbon economy to inform the low-carbon economy”
The fact is that they are not reducing emissions but increasing them and the only transition is to fewer well paid jobs, lower exports and higher imports.

    Where is the evidence?

Where are all these jobs allegedly being created – why do we have no job prospects for younger people?

Too many industries have already been wiped out because of net-0 – are these, or their green version, suddenly going to reappear and be profitable? I don’t think so!

Labour keep on spouting about new green jobs being created, but this is purely hot air. The declining economy tells us everything we need to know about new green jobs!

Lord Whitehead: “My noble Lords, I see a deep bed of sand. Please excuse me while I bury my head in it.”

Perpetual inexactitudes from Labour. There are no jobs transferring! Assembly of foreign manufactured components is not manufacturing. Importing more and more from alternative regimes can never replace real manufacturing jobs – it simply produces more World CO2 than before.

A ridiculous reply from a labour Peer trying to defend the disaster of ‘net zero’

If Lord Whitehead believes that skills and jobs are moving seamlessly from high to low carbon industries then he should watch the Energy Security & Net Zero Select Committee meeting on 01/07/2026 on the subject ‘Managing The Future of Oil & Gas’:

The Government’s figures on “green” jobs include all the jobs associated with garbage collection to washing solar panels.

The only low carbon jobs being created are in China.
