Asking them to perform near impossible tasks sets them up to fail. How can the new Chancellor find all the money he needs to keep his own promises on defence spending?How can Angela Rayner get anywhere near hitting the target to build 1.5 m homes in five years when the first two have gone so badly? How will continuing the sell out to the EU achieve anything other than more costs and less benefit to the UK? How will keeping our own oil and gas in the ground undiscovered and paying high taxes to foreign governments to import oil and gas instead help us or save the planet? How will letting many more people get a sicknote for life on benefits help them or the economy? When will they have a plan to stop the huge losses and grants at nationalised Steel and the Post Office? How will they pay for more nationalisation?
The lack of a statement to the Commons and the refusal to let MPs cross examine the PM is a disgrace. The outgoing PM told us how well he did, so why did Labour MPs dump him? If they all think his economic policy worked the country is in for a bad time. If they now back yet more Reeves style tax rises and wasteful spending things will get worse.

Burnham’s policies seem to be devolve power to people like Kahn, Drakeford and Sturgeon, but realign with the EU to centralise power with the unelected EU, have a No 10 UP North, stick largely with the net zero lunacy and the suicidal, doom loop policies of Reeves.

In 77 I left the country in disgust at the state of things. I came back on leave in 79 for a job interview in London. The place was awash with litter and portable refrigerator plants storing dead bodies. I couldn’t leave soon enough. Eventually returning for good in 99, only to watch all that was good be slowly destroyed.

Burnham wants to be a “circuit breaker” does he know what a circuit breaker is? Perhaps if you read English at university a circuit breaker is rather different to those in engineering where it makes all the power go off. I remember lots of those 70s power cuts under the hopeless Ted Heath with the mineworker strikes. A real return to the 70s.
Modern circuit breakers (earth leakage ones) can be safer, but in many ways are worse than old fuses as they can cause lots of false alarms and endless tripping and can trip even just when a light bulb fails and it is often hard to locate the causes of irritating and serial random trips.
Then Burnham says he will issue an order to the civil servants to stop people sleeping rough. He could not even stop this in the tiny area of Piccadilly Gardens in central Manchester! He and the blob are bound to fail at this. Even if they try to.

Where is the modern Mrs T?
Rupert Lowe is the only man of substance who has answered a lifetime of questions successfully, and who is therefore fit to be PM, but Mrs T was the leader of a serious, comprehensive, compelling Official Opposition Party with mature political principles which had been refined and crystallised into a Plan of Action.
Restore is a long way from that. However they are publishing very comprehensive policy papers. Is anyone reading them or are we all mesmerised by Mrs Burnham’s dress?

Rupert Lowe (whom I have some respect and admiration for) doesn’t have the charisma of Mrs Thatcher whilst his views are too extreme for most Conservative voters (Mrs Thatcher’s politics was less extreme – although her challenges just as great). Rupert Lowe will only succeed via dictatorship. But a dictator needs charisma which he lacks compared to a Mrs Thatcher. And most Conservative voters (including the military who you need in a dictatorship) don’t like dictators especially after what we saw with what happened from the time of the Russian Revolution to Germany 1945 – where power simply goes to the dictators’ heads and they end up destroying their own people and others, cities and culture and long-term legacy.
I don’t know what the exact solution is to our great problems (I have some ideas). But the first port of call is to pray. For the wisdom of Solomon and other leadership gifts such as that of Joseph of Egypt, King David and Cyrus the Great about how to proceed for the benefit of our great country.
For The King of Kings is infintely more wise, charismatic and powerful than Rupert Lowe.

Imagine what Germany would have been like if it had had a leader such as Cyrus the Great in 1933?
It would have risen out of the ashes into a great nation. No war. Its cities, people, art, culture, legacy in tact. But so much more added to it so that Germany would be remembered for a 1,000 years in a great way, as Cyrus is, instead of the deep shame Germany will now carry for a 1,000 years. It would have also, no doubt, challenged Communism and Soviet Union in some way, so that Communism and the Soviet Union would have collapsed a lot sooner than it eventually did (and if Germany had had a Cyrus the Great, our great nation would now be a lot greater, as WW2 obviously set us back economically in so many ways as well as how it led to the destruction of so much of our cities, and above all, killing of so many soldiers – and civilians to a degree too).

Burnham is an unknown player at the top job, we all have serious doubts about his ability, but in true British tradition, we should reserve judgement and see if he is able/capable. We will soon know if he is just another overhyped left wing political activist. Is he going to be a realist? Burnham has appointed John Healey as Chancellor. Healey resigned from his role as SoS Defence in Starmer’s government and this resignation may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back

One good thing came out of the reshuffle – red Ed will no longer be the absurd driving force behind net-0, but will that make any difference considering how much damage has been done to our economy for ‘green reasons’.
Before the reshuffle it was briefed that it was intended that energy companies should manage temperature settings on homes with heat pumps.
“Energy suppliers could be given the power to remotely reduce heating output in homes fitted with heat pumps under Government proposals.
The Smart Secure Electricity Systems scheme, which is currently under consultation, would allow licensed providers including Octopus Energy and British Gas to dial down heat pump systems via internet connections during periods of peak electricity demand.”

It is not just the appointments that are a mess. Burnham told us that his quick eye-catcher removal of VAT on electric bills would be paid for by the cancellation of the ID project, but before you could blink, another Labour MP, Darren Jones, had pointed out on X that this could not be the case, because the ID project is as yet unfunded, so in reality the money will have come from somewhere else. The new Chancellor looks like having a very difficult job keeping his leader on the straight and narrow.

No doubt it is a tough task for incoming Ministers to get to grips with the mess made by their predecessors in the last two years. Both Starmer and Reeves are deluded in saying they have left the UK in a better place than when they inherited it.

I genuinely think we are dealing with a group of people incapable of facing truth. This is very serious – how can anyone in Britain reach their age without having been forced to face reality and therefore truth, yet climb to the most powerful positions in the country with the capacity to destroy on a grand scale?
Without comprehending truth there is no hope whatsoever of assessing any challenging situation and coming up with a solution (taking into account the tools available to you – another constraint).
