Councils should fly our flags, not take them down

Instead of wasting time and money going round their areas taking down Union and England flags, Councils should  respond to the public mood. They all must own a few Union and England flags, so run them up the Town Hall flag poles. Show us you want to be on our side. Stop complaining about law abiding tax paying people who pay the Council  wages and who are proud of our country.

They are quick enough to stick up rainbow flags at my expense. The flag protests are a great way to stick up two fingers to our ruling class. I’m getting one to put on my property.

+1 I have seen people advertising flagpoles now.
Let’s each run up a flag.

You may need Planning permission for a flag pole, yes seriously !

Go abroad and you see the National/State flag flying on all Government/Local Authority buildings.

In many places we appear to be ashamed of ours !

Same here; a small Union Flag will be adorning my property.

We should all be patriotic and proud to be so. Millions of brave people died for this country, we have always been a proud and brave nation and we should continue to be. If some are upset by our flags they shouldn’t be here. This is the land of the free, either embrace it or go.

Self selecting. If they don’t like our flag, our laws, our country or us, well then – Good Bye Kier.

This is sinister. What is it that offends council leaders about our Nation’s flags? Apart from the waste of time and money, do they not accept that they are part of our nations? Are they trying to undermine our Nations State?
Perhaps all councillors and elected local representatives should be required to take an allegiance to King and Country prior to taking office.

This is pettiness by our extreme left Parliament and Government that has trickled down to local authorities. The flags went up to celebrate Lionesses’ victory at the World Cup and stayed up in recognition of the 75years since VE Day etc.
We have a Parliament that hates the people that put them there. We have a Parliament inventing reasons to stamp out pride in the Nation. In essence we have a Parliament with its Leadership that just hates the UK.

Don’t forget that anything that isn’t in keeping with this Socialist WEF Parliament and Government is classed as extreme right-wing. The Courts supported the extreme left views of Councillor Ricky Jones because they were aligned with Parliament thinking

Councils who cannot even collect the bins – due to Harrier Harperson’s moronic equality law and work of equal value decided by deluded judges who have done none of these jobs!

But we are told by health and safety “experts” that English and GB flags are somehow more dangerous than flags of other nations!

Some rule that prevent councils doing anything much with tax payer money other than taking the bins away, deterring real crime and other such vital concerns only would be rather welcome? Local politicians should not be pontificating about net zero or wars, promoting woke agendas etc. using public money at all. Much of the money is spend as propaganda to win votes. The same for the appalling Sadiq Kahn!

The time is fast approaching when the people have to take the necessary action to return the nation to a safe and stable state.
The establishment have consistently failed to honour the contract they have with the tax payers and the citizens of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
They think they are exempt from the retribution of the society they have so clearly failed.
They are in for a shock.

Removing the Union Jack and the English flag shows the contempt those in power have for the UK and its people.
It also tells you something about our education system and the refusal to teach UK history positively.

Off Topic – What a clown the PM is when he says we will put boots on the ground to defend Ukraine’s border, but he does not attempt to control ours. Let’s have the Navy turn back boats in the channel, and the Army welcome illegal migrants on the beaches. If they get through, then put them in detention centres and return them to France or their country of origin within 7 days. If they have no papers and refuse to say where they come from, then deport them to the Falkland Islands. The boats would stop coming within a month!

Have said the same for years, we should have an automatic default place to send people who refuse to co-operate.

If it’s OK for flags to be flown then the cross of St George should be a mandatory inclusion.

Otherwise take them all down and if replaced by rainbow or Palestinian or EU representation put larger a red cross on a white background up too.

I have lived in countries that encouraged nationalism through the statutory flying of flags and the National Anthem being played on TV and over loud speakers in the morning and the evening and wouldn’t recommend it. But if flags are flying the Cross of St George should be prominent among them.

The BBC played the National anthem at the end of each day – not sure when they stopped but sur3 they have.

Everyone will rally to the flag when the enemy invades and threatens to pillage their houses and rape their daughters. The flag is a symbol of identity. If people don’t rally to the flag, they won’t join up for the armed services.
When local politicians organise themselves into counter allegiance and put up the Palestinian or Pakistani flag in preference to the Union Jack, it means there has been a failure in integration. This failure needs to be addressed, and refuse the corrosive critical race theory agenda. Want to come to this country? Then change your allegiance to the United Kingdom and embrace the Union Jack. If you don’t wish to change your allegiance, you can stay as a guest for a while but then time for you to go.

It’s a crime not to fly the Union Jack.
And the Union Jack should be in churches too (for patriotism is a virtue), Oxford, Cambridge and educational establishments in general, on the BBC building and the media in general, and artists and writers and composers etc should be doing more to celebrate being British with Union Jacks.
Patriotism is a beautiful thing. Including Union Jack.

My guess is that Reform will gain another 1% in polling from this issue – and it won’t have cost them a penny.

They’ll also gain from the Lucy Connolly issue, now she’s released … and the announcement of Reform’s plans to detain and deport criminal migrants.

The BBC has been reporting that flying our flags is somehow contentious.

No wonder it is losing listeners, readers and viewers!

Credit to the city of Worcester. There are St George and Union flags flying from many of our lamp posts at the moment, probably in celebration of VJ Day. A conflict in which many of our Commonwealth citizens had family involvement.

This is the people vs the State. The people will not forget this betrayal. The State will, in time, come to remember it.

For too long we have been made to feel we should not put up our flag(s). Now is the time to tell our employees that they should do as we say not as they say. I hope every place that can be painted over like a Banksy picture takes place from our up and coming painters. The young can lead on this one as it is a worthwhile cause to support and it is about this country not somewhere miles away.
